Danielle, our host, was most communicative and helpful before and during our month’s stay, though not intrusive at all. When we arrived, she showed us around the locality, so that we knew where everything was. The apartment was very clean, with all we needed and we found it always warm and cosy - especially necessary, as we were there in very wintry weather! The location of the property is ideal, with local amenities: supermarkets, cafés, restaurants, boulangeries, butcher, pharmacies, organic shops, a great food market three times a week, practically next door! The proximity to the centre of Paris was one of the great advantages of the apartment, with Nogent-sur-Marne RER station only five minutes’ walk away. We managed to travel in most days and visited many sights, some we’d never heard of! We enjoyed visits to Vincennes, a local town with a château and only two stops up the line (although walkable in 30 minutes). The Bois de Vincennes was enchanting and there is a little lakeside café (which offers a warming hot chocolate and crêpes, amongst other things) on a cool day! A superb holiday for us!
