”My wife, son & I decided to have a spontaneous night away (21-6-25) and after reading a few reviews and using google for location we decided to book with the Stamford Gate Hotel. On arrival the staff were extremely helpful and answered our questions. The room was good and I was even surprised to see trouser pressers in the room. Something I have not seen in many of years which and made me smile and have a good childhood memory of my late parents. The building looks very pretty inside and out...

”The room we had was clean and comfortable with plenty of space to move around. We had breakfast both mornings and dinner on our first night and the food and service was excellent throughout. We will definitely stay here again.”

”We stayed at The Ship for a special wedding anniversary. It’s an exceptional hotel in a wonderful area which has a unique atmosphere. The hotel food is good with a menu that changes over the seasons. The breakfast is very good and there is plenty of choice from pastries and cereals to full English. The rooms are well furnished and comfy and the tea, coffee and biscuits topped up daily. For bird watchers the estuary is worth a visit and in the room we chose the hotel thoughtfully provided...

”For me personally staying on my own i am well looked after and it is nice when staff recognise you. Nothing is too much trouble. I like to come twice a year to relax. I also enjoy having treatments at the spa.”
