Absolutely Perfect!

We had the best time and the house and property were amazing! The community was so welcoming and the view was beyond perfect. We had great conversations with the property manager and the owner who were more than gracious and accommodating. The grill area, pool, patios were all so spacious and even better than the pictures! The Villa is also completely gated which made it a perfect getaway and felt safe the entire time. Highly Highly Recommend WineVilla for anyone with friends or families with or without kids.

Luxurious villa!

This house, known as the Winehill Villa, is wonderful and luxurious. We loved waking up every morning to the most amazing view of the sea out beyond the infinity pool. We spent many hours in the comfortable couches and lounge chairs by the pool and the view, and we ate many of our meals there as well. The property is on a hill and gated, and we loved being able to walk to so many great restaurants, shops, grocery stores and the beach. We rented a car and used it several days to explore other parts of the island. The property manager provided great references for activities, the rental car, airport transportation and more. It was a fabulous house and we hope to return some day!

A Perfect Family Getaway at Winehill Villa in Platanias, Crete

Our recent stay at Winehill Villa was nothing short of incredible. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning views of the Cretan Sea and the breathtaking sunsets visible from the villa’s many outdoor spaces, particularly around the amazing pool area. The villa’s location in Chania was ideal for exploring Crete, as it provided easy access to beautiful destinations like the Samaria Gorge, Elafonisi, old town of Chania, and a variety of local beaches. The villa itself easily accommodated our family of seven, offering plenty of space for everyone to unwind and relax. The kitchen was exceptionally well-stocked, and our son, who is a chef, was able to prepare delicious family dinners on two occasions. On our last evening, we enjoyed a catered event in the outdoor dining area, which featured a large charcoal grill and seating for 12+ individuals. In fact, the villa boasts more than four outdoor dining areas, two of which are conveniently located by the pool, making them perfect for enjoying meals with a view. Speaking of the pool, it was a true highlight of the villa. We spent countless hours swimming and lounging by the water, all while soaking in the stunning panoramic views of the sea. The sound system added a fun touch, helping to set the perfect atmosphere, whether we were relaxing or having a family game of ping pong or splashing in the pool. Outstanding Luxury Rental

Winehill Villa was fantastic and even better than expected! Fabio was a great host and was always responsive to emails and requests. Exterior: The infinity pool with the view of the ocean and sunset is amazing. The pool was also a great temperature, refreshing, and long enough to swim laps. Note that the entire pool is too deep to stand, but we enjoyed floating on foam noodles or relaxing on the side when not swimming around. There were plenty of comfortable reclining chairs and umbrellas and you will never want to leave the pool with that phenomenal view. There is also a ping pong table and basketball hoop in the back. Interior: The house has beautiful design elements throughout, and we were impressed by the architectural plan of the house. We loved the two large sliding glass doors that separate the living room from the pool and can be easily and completely opened. The furniture everywhere was comfortable and fun. The pool table in the lower level is fun. The beds and bedding in every bedroom were comfortable. And the blackout shades were excellent for sleeping. One unexpected plus was that many of the best restaurants in Platanias are located on the same hill as the Winehill Villa. We were able to walk just 5 minutes to eat at Astrea and Amarantos which had great traditional food and amazing views. It was also easy to walk down to the main road to pick up groceries, shop, and eat. We would definitely stay at Winehill Villa again.

Amazing views and location

We could not have imagined a more amazing view! We traveled with family and absolutely loved Crete and the villa. The location and villa were so beautiful no one wanted to leave they only wanted to stay by the pool. The town was within walking distance with restaurants, coffee shops, stores, etc. Everywhere we went we felt like family as everyone was so welcoming, kind and generous. The villa owner had beautiful fruit, vegetables, drinks, and much food for us to enjoy upon our arrival. It was amazing after a long day of travel to arrive to a stocked home. He also delivered pastries and the most delicious cake we had during our entire stay in Greece. This was by far our favorite island in Greece and we will all definitely be visiting again in the future! Much gratitude to Fabio and all he did for us prior to our stay and during our stay!

A true luxury experience

This property is exactly what you are imagining. Truly luxurious and the pictures did not do it justice! The view was beyond stunning and the amenities were incredible. We didn't leave the villa much given we were able to play basketball, bbq, table tennis and relax by the pool! We even managed to make pizzas in the pizza oven! Fabio was extremely helpful and was full of knowledge and a great communicator. Honestly could not recommend this villa anymore!

Excellent location with great hosts!

The villa was outstanding, very well maintained, with great attention to detail. Everything as described on the website. The location was one of the best ones we could wish for with a fantastic view, very close to shops and restaurants and a great starting point for hiking trips. The house offers many leisure activities - very nice! The family owning the place was super nice and attentive, even filled the fridge for us and brought pastry. We loved the trip and want to come back. Thanks for having made this trip unforgettable for us!

Fabulous home stay

We loved the house the moment we walked in. The Welcome was amazing from wine, stocked fridge and Razi. The bedrooms were comfortable for all 6 of us. We enjoyed the pool and views from the deck. The only glitch was the hot water when more than one person took showers. We would love to come back someday and enjoy the house and your hospitality.

Lovely Villa, Close to Everything

This villa is gorgeous and is exactly as described, except I do not recall seeing a jacuzzi during my stay. Fabio was great, kitchen was stocked with plenty of snacks upon arrival but the Best part of the villa is it is in walking distance to everything. Downsides are; pool is a little too deep to relax in, air conditioning is pretty much non existent, mattresses and linens need to be upgraded and cleaning only takes place if you are up by 10 am daily.

Beautiful, relaxing trip to Crete

Spent the week at the Villa with friends. We loved every moment and the property is beautiful. Short walking distance to Platanias town, great tavernas, gorgeous beaches in Crete and the property manager (Fabio) is very accommodating and helpful. We spent time visiting all the beaches during the day and relaxed by the pool in the evenings. The pool has no shallow area which was difficult for the younger kids in our group, however, we all had a great time and loved every moment!

The house was perfect and fully equipped!We had everything we need. The hospitality was really impressive and the design of the house exceeded our expectations! The view from outside is magic and very relaxing. It is very closed to the beach and you can walk to go there and to many nice restaurants. "Absolutely Fantastic! Outstanding Villa"

When we arrived at Winehill Villa, our breaths were taken away. It is absolutely amazing. The views from the pool area are stunning , looking out over to the mountains and the beautiful sunset in the evenings is breath taking. The villa is of high quality, luxury, comfort and absolutely outstanding. The kitchen is extremely well equipped, with everything you need including a full fridge of goodies with drinks, fruit, snacks and a gift basket of treats on arrival, which was fantastic. All of the bedrooms and bathrooms are of high quality and all the rooms are fully air conditioned. The Villa is immaculately cleaned daily by Ava. She is very friendly, polite, helpful and hardworking. The outside terrace is very large, with plenty of seating and sun lounges.There is a huge BBQ area which we used and cooked some delicious Greek food. All the necessary equipment was provided, including plenty of charcoal. The infinity pool is absolutely beautiful and truly amazing as it looks out over onto the blue sea of the Mediterranean. When we arrived, we were greeted by Fabio the property manager. He showed us around the villa and offered his services to us during our stay. He was extremely helpful, gracious and a lovely man and was so accommodating. He gave us great recommendations of restaurants and places to visit. Anything you wanted or needed help with, Fabio was there to help. The owner John left some delicious cakes and breads for us one day but unfortunately we missed him but would like to say THANK YOU! Winehill villa was the perfect place for us. We were a group of 9 with the villa being so spacious, there was plenty of room. The villa is situated in a perfect, quiet location with privacy which is only a 5-10 minute walk down to Platanias to the local supermarkets, Restaurants, Bar's and Cafe's. With a beautiful sunrise and the spectacular views overlooking the sea, it makes Winehill villa the perfect place to stay for a relaxing, tranquil holiday. We had a fantastic, relaxing holiday. Winehill Villa is a beautiful place to stay and the Island of Crete is spectacular. We would highly recommend Winehill Villa to anyone who is travelling to Crete for the perfect holiday. We really didn't want to leave and we will definitely come back again!

Best place for a family reunion!

The pictures don't lie - this property is outstanding in every way! Our family of 7, currently 6 adults and a 6 month old, spent 8 wonderful nights at this villa and wished we had longer to enjoy all the amenities. The villa had everything we could possibly want (and more - never turned on the huge flat screen or played pool or used the barbecue) and the neighborhood a few steps down the hill was full of restaurants and shops. We loved the large pool and terrace with the sweeping view of the Mediterranean spreading out before us and had a daily conflict over staying home or heading out to explore some of the fabulous sights nearby. Fabio the manager and wonderful Eva, who came daily to clean and spread her good cheer, took care of any needs and made us feel completely at home. One thing to note - the pool is quite deep throughout so any little person learning to swim will need full flotation support. Even in the shallow end, the water was up to my neck. However there is a big chest full of pool toys and flotation tubes and it was a perfect place to swim some laps every morning with birds flying overhead. We would love to come back here, as it was a fabulous place in a great part of the world. Winehill Villa and Crete make for the perfect holiday.

Wonderful villa, great location close to amenities

A high spec villa close to all amenities. Stunning views!!! The villa was very well appointed with all mod cons. Lovely welcome pack and treats delivered throughout our stay. Fabio on hand to help sort taxis and fix and minor issues. My only negative about this wonderful villa and every thing is truly lovely is that the pool is very deep. It limited playtime with our daughter as she couldn’t stand up at all at 9 years old. A small point but one worth mentioning.

If you are looking for a luxury villa in Crete this is it!!

We spent 1 week with extended family ranging from 7yr to 70, 9 of us in total. The villa is really well designed and has everything and more your need to be kept entertained, the pool area is stunning with an amazing backdrop of sea views and mountains. We also really enjoyed the outdoor kitchen/dining area, I recommend indulging in a private chief to make the most of. The villa and it`s grounds were more than generous and offers many different spaces to relax, again design has really been thought about from the layout to the décor. The location for us was perfect, although tucked away looking over the town, giving privacy and quiet, you could be down in the main street within 5-10min walk where your find plenty of bars restaurants etc.. best of both worlds! Being high up means walking back to the villa can be a bit of a work out unless you jump in a taxi for a few euros which are readily available, we done both and didn’t find this an issue. The owner (John) and (fabio) are extremely welcoming lovely people who can’t do enough to help you get the most out of your time in Crete, they made such I difference to our stay from simple recommendations to making reservations on our behalf and providing little surprises to give that extra touch, great people who really know how to treat guests (THANK YOU AGAIN) I very rarely write reviews or return to the same place twice, however we had such a great time I`m making an exception in both instance’s!

Just.... Fan....Tastic

This place is just as great as the photos. Wonderful space for two families to share. Easy walking distance to lots of great restaurants. Fab views, great decor, lots to do on-property (Basketball, pool, table tennis, swimming etc.) . Fabio was great to do business with, the fridge was stocked upon arrival with everything we needed so we didn't actually shop for 2 days. Yiannis, the owner, came by a couple of times with cakes, lovely breads and hos wonderful humour. Fabio arranged car hire for us and gave us lots of additional support and recommendations via WhatsApp. The town itself is really nice as mostly occupied by Nordic holiday makers, so good energy. The beach at Platanias was just fine but to be honest, you cant beat the pool at the property.

Perfect villa

We stayed at this villa for a week at the beginning of July and it was perfect. We absolutely LOVED this villa. The house was every bit as beautiful as it looked in the pictures. Everything was in good working order and very clean and it is beautifully furnished. The pool/deck area was by far our favorite and we spent all our time there. The landscaping everywhere on the property was immaculate. There's a ping pong and pool table, a great sound system and a basketball court. The kitchen was stocked with drinks, fruit and snacks when we arrived and a gift basket of gourmet treats was there also. The house has everything you need so you don't have to waste money buying things like spices, detergent, soap etc for your stay. The owners dropped off fresh pastries and veggies and even a giant pool float for us. The location is also great, you can walk down to Plantanias (although it is a steep walk back up) and there's a large driveway to park rental cars which are very reasonably priced. The property manager was really helpful in recommending restaurants and helping us with taxis and rental cars. The only point to note if you are traveling with kids is that the shallowest depth of the pool is about 5 ft (the deepest was not very deep), so you may want to bring water wings if you have a non-swimmer. Our kids spent most of their time on pool floats so they were fine. Overall, this was the best villa we've ever rented and we would definitely return.

Amazing villa, stunning view and a great location!

We stayed at Winehill Villa with friends, four adults and four children in total and we all had an amazing time. The interior was beautifully furnished yet cosy and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and with the daily cleaning service provided, clearly every comfort for a 'home away from home' was catered for. The The outside space was gorgeous and there was so much to entertain the children in and outside the villa, not to mention a small but well equipped gym. From the moment we arrived, Fabio (the manging agent) was welcoming and helpful. We arrived to a fridge full of food, beers, wine and some treats for the children. The location is great and the beach within walking distance. Chania is a stunning port with a multitude of gorgeous restaurants, bars and shops to peruse. It is approx. a 20 mins drive and taxis are easily accessible. Fabio also had some great recommendations! We would most definitely book another stay here but probably earlier in the summer when the pool is slightly warmer. Thank you Fabio for an amazing stay we didn't want to leave!

perfect luxury villa!

The house is even better than expected. Big, luxuriousand very well equipped The best point is all the huge glass windows that make light come in from all sides and enjoy the panorama. . We spend two weeks enjoyed the facilities of it such as sauna , indoor jacuzzi , private pool , bbq area and tennis court with a breathtaking sea view all around villa. A place where combines luxury and outsatnding view from the sea and nature. We will definetely recommend this property in platanias

Un séjour de rêve dans une luxueuse villa dominant la baie de Platanias. Rien ne manque... Et en prime un accueil chaleureux du manager Fabio et du propriétaire Yiannis qui vous rend visite les bras chargés de produits locaux. Ménage quotidien, réfrigérateur rempli à l'arrivée... n'hésitez pas une seconde ! Le top ! Une merveilleuse semaine, au calme mais à deux pas des restaurants et des boutiques de la ville.

Exceptional and professional

Stayed for one week in August 2017. Greeted with kind gesture of full fridge and welcome treats. Cleaning service impeccable. Villa is exceptional. Pool very well maintained. Landscaping gorgeous. We ended up going out each night for meals but grounds have an outdoor kitchen and dining area is you choose to cook. Very private location in a tourist heavy town of Platanias. Great location if you would like to experience the beautiful beaches of western Crete and use the villa as a home base. Owners and property managers are readily accessible and involved throughout entire process. Would recommend without hesitation. Best for up to party of 10. We had 2 children--6 and 2--and 8 adults. And it was very accommodating.
