”Our room was Yew and Eye, one of the newly built cabins in the garden of this historic inn with a twist. The design is like nothing we’ve ever seen before with surprises every way you look. The room itself has human eyeballs as a decorative theme which was fascinating and amusing. The standard double bed was extremely comfortable, there was plenty of useful storage and good ventilation. ”The property was directly across street from main train station which takes you into London. Family room too small for family of four. No space to walk around bed. Expected 2 twin beds and a double bed but got one twin bed and a cot which was between the twin and double bed and you had to crawl across bottom of bed to stand on whatever space that was not occupied by suitcases. This should be a triple room rather than a quadruple family room ”

We had an evening meal in the dining room, which was of excellent quality. The ambience in the restaurant was lovely.
We were not disappointed, in fact Hotel and staff exceeded our expectations.
The grounds, including the country club, it’s worth walking around. The Ashdown Forest is a very beautiful setting , lots of walks.”
