Monumental Earthworks at Poverty Point was inscribed into list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 2014. It consists of 5 mounds and 6 concentric ridges created in 3700-3100 BC. While it’s difficult to appreciate the entire site from the ground, the platform leading up to the largest mound gives visitors a good vantage point.
