Tuscany small town charm - Il Cuculo
Our Stia stay was exactly what we were looking for as a family of 2 grandparents, 4 adult children and 2 grandchildren, age 2 and infant, plus 3 other adults at times. We enjoyed a walkable town and excursions throughout Tuscany. Lucia was top notch and made our two weeks extraordinary - she booked a private chef, a pizza night at the home pizza oven, suggested wineries and helped with some transportation needs. She was attentive to all our requests! It's a beautiful property with a lovely pool and home. Florence and Arezzo are an hour away but there are many places to explore. The house accomodated our large group. The beds were hard but we really enjoyed our stay and recommend.

Excellent séjour
Nous avons passé un magnifique séjour en famille. La maison est très bien équipée, tout particulièrement dans la cuisine. La grande table ronde sous la terrasse nous a permis de partager tous nos repas en famille, à l’ombre. Lucia était très réactive aux messages que je lui ai transmis durant le séjour. Ses conseils étaient précieux. Je recommande vivement ce magnifique lieu de vacances. Merci pour tout

Rustic large house, great pool, close to hikes and village
We were a family group of 7 so had plenty of room. The standout was the lovely well-maintained pool with large surrounds for sun loungers. All in a large private garden. The house is basic but well equipped. The internet was intermittent. An evening breeze keeps the house cool despite the very hot temperatures when we were there. It's a windy scenic drive from Florence but a world away from the crowds with a lovely old square to walk to and enjoy morning coffee and pastry. An authentic experience. We had a great time at "Il Cucolo".

Spacious house with full Tuscany experience
We had a great time in the house. It was very clean and spacious. We enjoyed the nice pool area, the pizza oven and the amazing views from the different terraces. You will find everything you need in walking distance in Stia and can also enjoy the beautiful nature around. On top of that Lucia was a great host.

Great Family holiday
My family and I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful villa.The villa provided an ideal setting for our extended family holiday, accommodating all of us with ease. The location of the villa was fantastic, nestled ijust the village of Stia that was just a pleasant walk away. We enjoyed the shops, bars, and restaurants in the area. The surroundings were undeniably beautiful, with picturesque views that made us feel truly immersed in the tranquility of the countryside. One of the standout features of the villa was its spaciousness, making it perfect for a large group. The house itself was well-designed and felt like a family home rather than a ‘beige’ holiday rental. The kitchen was exceptionally well-equipped, providing everything we needed for a large group. We particularly loved the brilliant pizza ovenand spinny outside dining table The kitchen equipment was impressive. We found everything from utensils to appliances, ensuring that cooking and dining at the villa were an absolute pleasure. Whether we were preparing a feast or simply enjoying a morning coffee, the kitchen had us covered. It is worth noting that having a car is essential when staying at this villa, as it served as an excellent base for exploring the surrounding areas. We appreciated the convenience of being able to easily reach nearby attractions and take day trips to nearby towns. Lastly, we cannot speak highly enough of Lucia, the host of the villa. Wunderschönes Haus in Stia
Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt in Stia!! Die Kommunikation mit Lucia verlief immer einwandfrei. Sie war sehr hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Das Haus ist sehr viel schöner und größer als im Inserat dargestellt. Außerdem ist man innerhalb von 1 1/2 Stunden in Florenz! Vom Haus überblickt man Stia und ist ganz für sich. Wir können das Haus nur weiterempfehlen!!

Perfect family holiday

wunderschönes, geräumiges Haus mit toller Aussicht
wir trafen auf eine sehr freundliche, zuverlässige und in der Kommunikation und Interaktion völlig unkomplizierte Gastgeberin. Das Ein- und Auschecken hat sehr einfach geklappt, die Kommunikation dazu war präzise und verlässlich. Das Haus ist sehr schön ruhig und dennoch ortsnah gelegen, die Ortsmitte ist sogar in wenigen Minuten mit dem Rad oder zu Fuss erreichbar. Die Räume sind sauber, die Küchen sehr gut ausgestattet. Sogar den Pizzaofen haben wir in Gang bekommen und damit super Pizza selbst gemacht. Die Poolanlage komplettiert den Komfort, die Kinder hatten riesigen Spaß. Wir haben uns rundum sehr wohl gefühlt in diesem Domizil und kommen sehr gern wieder. Herzlichen Dank, Lucia für die Gelegenheit zu diesem sehr angenehmen Urlaubsaufenthalt! :-)

Traumurlaub in toller Umgebung!
Sehr schönes Objekt mit tollem Pool und einem grandiosen Pizzaofen in einer traumhaften Umgebung. Der kleine, schnuckelige Ort Stia mit netten Lokalen und Geschäften ist fußläufig zu erreichen, der Ort Arezzo ist ca. 50 Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt. Die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin hat hervorragend funktioniert und das Haus ist auf jeden Fall eine Empfehlung wert.

Sehr schönes Haus in toller Umgebung!
Ein sehr schön gelegenes Haus auf einem tollen Grundstück. Alles gut in Schuss, viel, viel Platz auch für größere Gruppen. Die Vermieterin sehr nett und bemüht die Wünsche zu erfüllen. Der Ort Stia ist so, wie man sich ein Dorf in der Toskana vorstellt, vom Haus aus in wenigen Minuten zu Fuss erreichbar. Die Eisdiele ein Traum! Insgesamt ein glatte 1!!!

En perle i Italien
Vi havde en fantastisk uge i dette hus i Stia. Helt lukket park, med et dejligt hus og lækker pool. Det var meget nemt at skrive/ringe med Lucia, som har huset, og hvis der er brug for hjælp er hun der med det samme. Huset er perfekt til flere familier. Vi var 3, med et total på 13 personer. Stia er en lokal perle midt i Toscana stort set uden turister, og vi nød godt at deres dejlige mad og venlighed. Vi var 3, som havde cyklerne med og det kan godt anbefales, der er bakker nok :-) En perfekt ferie i et super hus. Thomas

Tolles Ferienhaus mit allem, was man braucht!
Schönes Landhaus mit einem großen, weitläufigen Garten. Man findet beim Spazieren immer wieder neues Obst, von dem man naschen kann und Kräuter, die wir zum gemeinsamen Kochen verwendet haben. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet und es gibt die Möglichkeit zu grillen oder sogar Pizza im Steinofen zu backen. Ebenso wie der Pool waren das Haus und die Bäder sauber und im einwandfreien Zustand. In der Altstadt von Stia ist man zu Fuß in 5 Minuten. Lucia und ihre Familie waren stets hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend, wir danken ihr für den tollen Aufenthalt!

Très belle semaine passée à la villa Il Cuculo
Nous avons passé une semaine merveilleuse entre amis. La villa présente de très beaux espaces, intérieurs comme extérieurs ; nous avons été jusqu'à 15 personnes, adultes et enfants, sans se gêner le moins du monde. La villa est confortable et propre et se trouve dans un endroit calme et reposant. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié les différentes terrasses, la cuisine d'été avec son four à pizza autour duquel nous avons passé du bon temps ; et, au-dessus de la villa, la piscine bien sûr, bordée d'oliviers et de massif de lavandes qui donnent une ambiance de détente très appréciable. Depuis la piscine, la vue est superbe sur les collines environnantes. Lucia, la propriétaire et son papa et même le jardinier sont très chaleureux et serviables. Je recommande sans hésitation cette villa où je retournerai avec plaisir. Virginie

nous avons été très bien reçus La villa est très confortable elle est spacieuse et chacun peut trouver à se reposer, la piscine est superbe dommage que le soleil n'était pas de la partie nous avons pu quand même nous baigner. la propriétaire et ses parents sont très sympathiques et de service; nous avons visité une grande partie de la toscane un jour sur deux l'autre jour était réservé au repos et à la visite de sites ou de villes à proximité Tout est beau en Italie le plus petit village a un intérêt. c'est avec plaisir que j'y retournerai chantal

The perfect Tuscan villa experience
This was my 4th stay at this villa. This villa is breathtaking, expansive, charming, clean and the best way to get the real Italian experience. Wake up to all of the chirping birds and feel like you are in paradise. Walk to the Coop, pick up some local ingredients and come back and cook a beautiful dinner for your friends and family. You can choose from the two outdoor grills, the wood burning pizza oven in the first kitchen or the oven in the second kitchen. You can book a chef to come cook for you as well. Walk down and meet the local farmer, Francesco, right on the property. If you are nice to him, he may just give you a few dozen fresh eggs, for your morning frittata. Enjoy a lazy afternoon by the pool under the beautiful, billowy Tuscan clouds. In the evening, walk to the pizzeria da Vincenzo and indulge with some pizza and pasta, served with a smile from mama Nina and family. Then head over for some real, homemade gelato. Last but not least. The owner, Lucia and her mother and father are the best hosts. They are very accommodating and will assist with any questions you have or any other information you need. She is very knowledgeable of the area and can give you many recommendations for the town or surrounding areas. There is a reason my friends and I come back to this villa. It is truly a gem and you would not be disappointed. Ciao!

Erholung pur
Wir sind mit einer Gruppe von 8 Erwachsenen, 4 Kindern und einem kleinen Hund für zwei Wochen in der "Kuckucksvilla" gewesen. Das Haus hat eine gute Ausstattung, schöne Lage und einen tollen Pool. Zu Fuß lässt sich das kleine Städchen Stia direkt von der Villa erreichen mit allen nötigen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, für den täglichen Bedarf. Florenz ist zwar nur 50 Kilometer entfernt, man braucht aber durch die Berge mehr als eine Stunde. Insgesamt war es sehr erholsamer Urlaub mit einigen kulturellen Abstechern in die Umgebung. Genau wie wir es uns vorgestellt hatten. Vielen Dank nochmal an unsere tollen Gastgeber. P.S. der Pizzaofen (mit Holzfeuerung) ist der Hammer.

The perfect Tuscan home
We were a big family, 9 adults, staying at il Cuculo in the beginning of June - and it was exactly like in the pictures. There was lots of space and nice rooms, clean sheets and towels (beds were kind of hard but you got used to it during the week). Nice to have many bathrooms, so the mornings were not a hassle. The kitchen was well equipped but the appliances were quite old. The pool and the surroundings were perfect. It was like in a dream to have a morning swim surrounded by lavenders and olives. And it was nice to be waken up by the rooster ;) Lucia was a good host and speaks good English. Stia is a picturesque old village but really traditional in respecting the Tuscan schedules. Shops are closed from 12 to 4 in the afternoon and restaurants only serve food during traditional lunch and diner times. As it is a small town the grocery prices are not as cheap as in bigger cities in Italy, and the choices are limited too. As Stia is in the mountains it was a little bit chillier than other places, at least in the beginning of June when the temperatures were under 25 degrees (celsius). There are nice places to visit nearby like the castle of Poppi. What really surprised us was the mountain roads. Even though it is only 50 km from Florence, the last 30 kilometers take over a half an hour because you have to drive up and down on a serpentine road. All in all it takes an hour 15 minutes to Florence. So I would not recommend this house if you are planning to do excursions to other places in Tuscany. There are mountain roads to go where ever you're driving.

Anyway average temperatures in June and July are usually higher than this. While August is usually the month when it rains more... but you are right it was not in 2016! die Villa ist herrschaftlich und hat einen wundervollen Ausblick!
Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Woche mit unserer Großfamilie ( 2 Familien mit Kindern mit den Großeltern insgesamt 13 Personen). Das Haus bietet ausreichend Platz für so viele Menschen, es gibt sehr viele Ecken und Winkel in denen sich auch Teile einer Gesellschaft zurück ziehen können. Das Haus ist gut gepflegt und sauber, die Küche biete alle notwendigen Utensilien. Der Pool ist groß und es gibt viele Liegen. Besonders ist allerdings die große Herzlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft der Vermieter Familie zu erwähnen! Das war traumhaft! Ebenso unglaublich war der Kochservice! Durch die Köchin Adriana wurde uns jeden Abend ein fantastisches 4 Dinner Menü aus der toskanischen Küche serviert. Absolut empfehlenswert!!
