”Amazing staff and service made our son's birthday celebration special and was unexpected as we'd mentioned the trip was for his birthday to our butler upon arrival and he asked what our visit entailed to help with reservations or directions to anything and they sent us a small birthday cake complete with balloons and a note from the hotel, which really surprised and delighted all of us in how they'd gone above and beyond here. The breakfast delivery to the room that's included here was also...

”The property , rooms and staff were excellent. The air conditioner was not strong enough to cool the room and the pillows had no firmness to them. I bought a pillow that had some firmness from Target 4 blocks away.”

”Loved staying here! The property, inside and out, was beautiful. The staff were wonderful and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. The view of the park and the river across the street was lovely. All the positives make up for the location being a bit further from restaurants and bars, although within walking distance depending on your abilities. We’d stay here again!”

”We paid extra for a room with a balcony and we were literally placed in the corner next to the maid closet. So every morning they slam the door open(no fault of theirs it’s just the way the door opens onto their carts as they stock them). Then no balcony. Second floor yet people on street just talking, not shouting sounded as if they were in our room. I paid a lot of money and was nothing but disappointed with this property. I now see why people don’t like to stay here.”

It takes quite a bit for me to actually leave a review, so congratulations,you’ve achieved something special. First, if you’re hoping to call the front desk, prepare for a scavenger hunt. The calls appear to be outsourced somewhere in a parallel universe because whoever answers has absolutely no idea how to help with anything at the property....

”Quiet location providing easy walking to most of the historic and museum sites as well as restaurants aplenty. Charleston provides a downtown area shuttle (DASH) if walking is an issue. Good included breakfast with many options. Friendly staff. The accommodations are not opulent but they're comfortable and enjoyable. The draw is the history of the building and the area. The other guests were all friendly. No one was there with a "one percenter attitude."”
