”We stayed at the Horse and Farrier the night before our hike up Scafell Pike, it's only a 25 minute drive to Seathwaite Parking, if you're going up the corridor route. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. the food was lovely and the room we stayed in was clean, well presented and comfy. Definitely recommend eating nd staying here!”

”Spent one night in the hotel. The hotel is situated by a lake and the surroundings are pretty. We were pleasantly surprised when we got upgrated for a better room. The room was AMAZING: big, clean, had a luxury feel to it and lovely view to the lake. The cooked breakfast was tasty and staff friendly. Only downside was that there was no dinner served. Would love to stay in this hotel again :)”

”Staff were friendly and helpful on arrival, showing us where to park. The cooler breakfast was really nice. The room was absolutely boiling and even with the windows open all evening it was a poor nights sleep. No aircon and only a little fan. Very firm mattress but it realise this is preference. My husband loved it but I didn’t sleep at all. Close to amenities and nice and quiet. Overall would stay again.”

I would leave a note for guests arriving early that they can leave their cars in the car park before check in as my partner kept going back to check with someone (anxiety) and there wasn't anyone around to ask. We stayed in the stargazer room which was quite small but cozy. My biggest issue with the room was the bed is noted as king size but it seemed like a double at...

”Everything about this I would rate as 5* - except the bed. The bed had a slope (informed to proprietor but no reply yet) which meant for 3 nights I had poor sleep, fighting the slope. As the #1 thing to get right for any stay is the bed, this seriously affected this review and I was even mulling leaving a 2* rating because of that. However, I decided against it as I hope the proprietor will as a result of this review *replace the mattress* for the benefit of others.”
