”I stayed at Holiday inn express braintree with my friend for 3 nights (a weekend). We stayed for V Festival in Chelmsford, but every hotel in C was full. There was literally no place to get food from, took a taxi to get to city centre (about £5) and back to get food on a friday night. To festival we took a bus that hotel's staff knew nothing about. Bus took about 35 minutes and cost £2,8-£5. The last bus back from Chelmsford was around 11pm on Saturday and 10pm on Sunday, so if you wantedto stay...

”The hotel location is fantastic, walking trail is on the door step, it’s so beautiful and peaceful with full of buttercups in the meadowlands. Wonderful National Trust Houses and Gardens like Melford Hall, Lavenham Guildhall and Ickworth all in 30 minutes driving. Besides the sound proof is weak, room #8 is good size for a single occupancy, although I paid for a double room. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. ”

”Definitely a place to remember and unwind after a busy time of work, whether that be holding which we hadn’t tried or enjoying a very nice view while having a drink to enjoying a relaxing time in their swimming pool. We met at the hotel in the afternoon, some of us strangers to one another but others old friends; we met again at the hotel around 9pm for drinks, staying up till 1230am. Our arrival was difficult, co-inciding as it did with some cycling event that denied us car access to the hotel. ”It as a beautiful 1400 Grade 1-listed building, which was great, but I had problems with the shower. In my initial room the water was lukewarm at best.
