The Captain’s Cottage is a newly remodeled one-bedroom, one-bathroom cottage situated on its own beautiful tropical garden oasis that is directly across the street from one of Santa Barbara’s best beaches. Located on Santa Barbara's main beachfront thoroughfare Shoreline Dr. the cottage is a short 5-minute drive to State Street’s world-class restaurants and nightlife. Providing guests the opportunity to both enjoy being in the heart of all that Santa Barbara has to offer while having complete privacy and solitude. In addition to the Cottage, the property includes a detached “Lounge” with an office, workout gear, and entertainment area that can also be converted to a fold-out full-size sofa bed. For all plant lovers, the grounds have an extensive collection of plants, flowers, and fruit trees that you will certainly enjoy exploring. With peak-a-boo ocean views through the front window, a private hot tub, and many luxury focused amenities, guests will enjoy resort quality in an intimate setting.

Although the cottage itself is quite small (600 sqft), meticulous attention to detail has been maintained throughout the property’s extensive remodel, creating a seamless flow throughout the cottage while boasting all of the amenities of a much larger luxury property. With some of the best weather in the country, The Captain’s Cottage offers many spaces to enjoy indoor-outdoor living. We have a 6-person dining table on the back patio, an outdoor futon, chairs and umbrella on the front porch, a hammock in the front, and a great front and back lawn for kids or dogs to play on.

Whether you simply want to make a cup of coffee or cook a gourmet date-night dinner, we view the kitchen as one of the shining jewels of the cottage. With stone countertops, beautiful kitchenware, and top-quality appliances, any time you spend in the kitchen will be a special treat. Next to the kitchen is an intimate breakfast nook perfect for two but quite tight (yet doable) for four adults. Being a tight space, the breakfast nook may not be a great fit for larger guests.

To ensure your comfort, the cottage is outfitted with an adjustable Sleep Number queen-size mattress, quality linens, towels, soaps, and cleaned to the highest standards.
