Rauhallinen mökki vieressä maaseudun maalaistalo 5 km: n päässä Suffolkin rannikolta

Rubblestone Cottage on hieno mökki vieressä sijaitsevaan Rubblestone-maalaistaloon, jossa on puutarha rentoutuaksesi. Sijaitsee erittäin rauhallisella alueella (omistajat ovat vetäytyneet maataloudesta, vaikka heillä on vielä aidan takana hanhi) ja miellyttävällä maaseudulla vain kuuden mailin päässä Aldeburghista, viiden mailin päässä Snape Maltings -konserttisalista, viiden mailin päässä RSPB: n luonnonsuojelualueelta Minsmerellä ja 15 minuutin ajomatkan päässä Southwoldin merenrantakaupungista Suffolkin perintörannikon reunalla se on ihanteellinen paikka tutustua joko jalka, pyörällä tai autolla. Mökki tarjoaa viihtyisää majoitusta jopa 4 hengelle. Pohjakerroksessa on olohuone, jossa televisio ja dvd-soitin, hyvin varustetussa keittiössä on sähköhella, mikroaaltouuni, jääkaappi-pakastin, pesukone ja ruokailutila. Pieni huone keittiön vierestä johtaa suihkuhuoneeseen, jossa on WC. Suora portaat johtavat ensimmäiseen kerrokseen, jossa on kaksi makuuhuonetta, yksi parivuode ja kaksi muuta erillistä vuodetta. Pihalla on runsaasti pysäköintitilaa, pieni terassi ja nurmikkojen käyttö (avoin lampi) myös varastotila pyöräillesi tarvittaessa. Rubblestone Mökki sijaitsee 3 km: n päässä Saxmundhamin markkinakaupungista, jossa on Waitrose- ja Tesco-supermarketit ja joukko pieniä kauppoja, kahviloita ja takeaway-ravintoloita. Lämmitys sisältyy hintaan, samoin kuin kaikki liinavaatteet ja pyyhkeet pyynnöstä. Valitettavasti emme voi palvella lemmikkieläimiä.
Monet vierailijat ovat nauttineet mökistä viimeisen kahdenkymmenen vuoden aikana. Muutama kommentti vierailijoiden kirjasta "Ihana mukava mökki", "Rauhallinen ja rentouttava".
Jos päätät viettää jonkin aikaa mökillä, saapuminen on neljätoista ja lähtö klo 10 mennessä.

The Rural Idyll

A lovely place - the sort of house and garden you might see on Springwatch. Rubblestone Cottage adjoins the main farmhouse, and is a completely self-contained place with 2 bedrooms, bathroom, lounge and kitchen. Spotlessly clean, well appointed kitchen with everything you need for a stay - and a really nice welcome from Caroline, with fresh milk in fridge and biscuits on the table when we arrived.The house is only 10 minutes drive from Saxmundham, but feels like a world away - all you can hear is birds, insects and now and again a very distant train. Amazing to sit on the front patio, overlooking hay meadows, listening to grasshoppers and watching green woodpeckers and other wildlife in the garden. Perfectly placed for Dunwich, RSPB Minsmere, Southwold, Aldburgh and Walberswick. Definitely somewhere we'd like to visit again. Thanks for a great stay Caroline!

Six nights at Rubblestone Cottage

The cottage is very clean, tidy and cosy, it was perfect for our needs. The garden is beautiful and I loved an early morning coffee outside with the moorhens. Our host, Caroline was friendly and very helpful, her parents at the main house were great too! I would definitely recommend staying here, the peace and quiet is wonderful, I'd hope to visit again.

A delightful return to East Suffolk

In our brief visit we enjoyed two concerts at Snape Maltings, visits to Woodbridge, Aldeburgh, and Orford for a wonderful fish lunch at Pinney's.Rubblestone Cottage was an ideal base and everything possible seemed to have been thought of to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable.

Rural idyll

Perfect little cottage for my friend and I to stay whilst meeting another friend. Very welcome "welcome" pack and everything just right for us. Perfect location for visiting various places in the area. Nice to chat to Frank and Hilda and get the history of the farm. Lovely listening to the birdsong and the weather was perfect. Really relaxing stay, surrounded by green and birdsong.

The property is as described small but perfect for 4 people. Although it is in the middle of farm land it is reassuring to know there are neighbours in the main house. Was very impressed with all the little thoughtful touches eg the welcome sign and tea / coffee / biscuits basket, the cooking oil and salt amd people , thr cute little make up clothes and the auto lights on stairs and by loo. We stayed 4 nights and were exploring Suffolk but could have easily had a day or 3 just sitting sipping wine /tea on the outdoor table watching the landscape. All nicely decorated and got the balance of being homely while avoiding the OMG don't break that worry of some properties esp. with kids in tow. We found the bed a little smaller / shorter than we are used to but after the first night it was fine. Really impressed with the thought put into kitchen equipmemt etc as everything you could possibly want and more was there..We woyld defintely return if in area. Would suggest a slightly bigger sign at the turning and if having non UK quests some instructions for the shower as they are a real British thing. We had read moans

Peaceful and relaxing stay.

We stayed as a family of 4 with two kids aged 6 and 9. The location was perfect for us to reach areas we wanted to visit without having to drive more than 30 minutes. Southwold was a highlight and we enjoyed a delightful dinner at the Boarding House in Halesworth. Orford Quay was also brilliant and Caroline was so kind as to share a crabbing line and net so our boys could spend a morning crabbing on the quay. There was a day where we had poor weather but that didn’t dampen our spirits and we spent it playing board games and puzzles available in the cottage. An 8 minute drive got us into Saxmundham for a takeaway, and at the Pinch Cafe down the road you could pick up some delicious dessert pastries and coffee. The garden was very relaxing and we exercised here and played football when the sun came out. Communication with Caroline was excellent. We needed to adjust our stay due to work and was able to do this with ease. We can understand why there are so many repeat visitors! We hope to be one of them too. Thanks for the warm welcome Caroline. It was so lovely to spend time in such a beautiful part of the country and decompress from London life if only for a few days.

A little slice of tranquility

My family and I had the most wonderful stay for 2 nights. We wished it could have been longer. The house is lovely, quaint, clean and quiet. We really enjoyed the quietness of the area and lack of road noise. There is very little light pollution so the skies at night were spectacular. There are beautiful old trees and a fantastic meadow in front of the property teaming with butterflies. The owners are really lovely and couldn’t have done more to make our stay better.. thank you so much. We’ll be back!

Peaceful short stay

We stayed 2 nights in the cottage with our 2 children. We cottage is clean, comfortable and well equipped with just the right amount of things you might need during your stay. The welcome basket of teas and biscuits etc is a lovely touch. The grounds are beautiful and very peaceful. We had a 2 year old with us so we requested a stair-gate for the top of the stairs which was provided. It’s not actually a gate but a piece of wood which fixes to the wall but it does the job. We brought our own bed guard with us which wasn’t the end of the world but would be nice if one could have been provided. Not a game changer though. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay here and will definitely look to stay again. Many thanks
