”Food was great and bar was well kept. Bed was comfy so comfortable in fact I overslept! Such a good find, not overly pretentious just good quality, helpful staff and good food. Perfect for a business stop over. WiFi was also reliable.”

”This an impotant historic property with fabulous grounds but has been upgraded to a clinical level. Very clean but no soul. Needs aome fwminine touches. Shelving, pictures, hooks etc. No retaurant facilities or breakfast. Basic but adequate”

”PLEASE READ!! This place is swarming with crack heads in and around the property. It is absolutely disgusting. The reception staff don’t let you leave or give your deposit back until they have physically checked the rooms, which is purely because the place is swarming with drug users. The BEDDING is heavily stained, the carpets are stained the whole thing should be advertised as a halfway house. This is not a hotel, yes it’s cheap, but it’s not even acceptable to sleep in during a cross country...

”Moved from the bull to the shepherds rest as an upgrade prior to arrival. Out of 4 rooms (party of 4), rooms 10 and room 4 no heating. The bull may have better but I’d avoid the shepherds rest. Also none of the TVs worked in any of the 4 rooms and Wi-Fi password not shared. A shame as the rooms were fine even if the showers are a little small. Place was clean and obviously has been invested in. ”

”Value for money hotel. Fixtures and fittings are tired but the bed and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Great value cooked breakfast for £7. Road a bit noisy. We were able to leave our car behind the building for the day which was great. If stairs are an issue/heavy luggage pays to be aware you might have a few flights of steps to climb depending on your room! Staff very helpful and friendly.”

”No air conditioning in the rooms even if advertised in Trivago and such. A window is not an air conditioning! Thru day there should be a tsble fan in every room but no, when :fully booked" no spare to give. Nice staff but you get what you pay, not much and false promises to go with it.”
