I have stayed in many hotels and b & b's, but I have never come across someone so rude and obnoxious in all my life. I booked a last minute room via expedia for myself, my partner and our 1 year old baby. Prior to arrival we phoned through asking if they would provide a travel cot. The owner took down our details and clearly stated that we weren't booked in to her hotel and was only waiting for one more guest to turn up, who was a single male. To my horror, I quickly went through my emails and realised I had booked three weeks away. We told the owner that we would no longer want the room, and thought no further actions was required, as we were going to pay on arrival. Three weeks later, we got a phone call from the hotel owner asking what time we would be arriving. I explained who I was and she remembered the phone call, stating that I should have cancelled through expedia. Now why didn't she say that at the time?!? Three days later I was charged by expedia for a room that I never stayed in and that we had cancelled three weeks before. I called the owner back, not to ask for a refund but to see if she could amend the booking and see if we could stay another time instead. She said if we had booked directly though her, then she could allow us to stay on a different occasion, considering that we had already paid. But due to the fact that we had used another service in which she is enlisted with, she said there was absolutely nothing she could do, which I find hard to believe!
