”I stayed on the beachside property this time. No renovations on this side, opposed to Mia's buildings across the street. Tiny unit. Cramped bathroom. Staff was friendly and helpful. Unit was clean inside.”

”They did a great job renovating the Tar Heel motel. Clean, comfortable rooms. Bring K-cups with you if you are a big coffee drinker and don’t pack heavy. This is the best of old school Outer Banks, reminds me of when my parents would take us to OBX in the 70’s staying at the Beacon.”

”We had an ocean front room with the historic wood paneling. It was charming and comfortable. I loved having the ocean access. The only complaint came from my teenage companion. She was surprised at the lack of outlets for charging her many electronic devices. Myself, this was to be expected and I didn't stress over it! I will definitely stay here again when visiting the OBX. Thanks so much!”

”Our “cottage” was a bit run down but certainly habitable. If it were mine, I’d gut it and do a complete remodel. It needed it. Beds were comfy. Location was good. Less than a minute walk to the beach which was accessible from the property. If you don’t need luxury, then you’ll be fine here, but if you’re looking for a 4 or 5 star, this ain’t it.”

”The rooms were very clean! I even mop before I stay in a room and it was definitely cleaned prior to our arrival. The breakfast was pretty mid but it was still convenient. Even the outdoor bathrooms were very clean and maintained. The experience was great! It felt pretty private and I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend.”
