”Lovely place, service was authentic and very friendly. Would have helped to have parking instructions beforehand, but they handled it perfectly as well at the location. Breakfast was good and the location was convenient for exploring the Peak district.”

”Awful property,don't book it. Paint peeling off on every ceiling. Wallpaper coming away from the wall in the main bedroom. Second bedroom is very small. We booked it as a couple, if 2 couples book it....good luck! Bedroom furniture is lacking to say the least for both rooms. Thankfully I always take a candle with me, take one,the property is far from fresh. All woodwork paint damaged. Bathroom needs replacing,the bath panel is not even attached to the wall. Both beds needs replacing,...

”Staff were excellent. Food very good. Appreciated group of 10 having separate area for meals. Not keen on the bath in the bedroom, nowhere reachable to put soap or shampoo. No washbasin in the toilet. Would be better to make shower room with toilet. Bath not easy to get in and out.”

”The rooms were small and the ones on the ground floor were noisy because of the proximity to the bar/restaurant. The food (breakfast and dinner) was fantastic though!”

”Room was adequate, the heated towel rail was on the other side of the bedroom wall so the bedroom was uncomfortably hot, even at night - but the wife preferred this. The bed was quite firm and a good size. It was difficult to view the TV screen from the settee on the back wall. Tea (Yorkshire) and coffees were plentiful - not so much biscuits. Full English, plus cereals, juice, toast and tea/coffee refills welcome.”

”Loved this place. The setting is beautiful as was our room. A real mixture of old and new that worked perfectly. The staff were really friendly and attentive and we truly felt welcome. We opted for the pie for dinner and I can honestly say, it was the best pie I have ever eaten. The pastry was amazing and it was filled to the max with the ham and leek. ”Average stay, tv not receiving signal, boiler broke down, although owner came out to fix within a few hours. Very poor welcome pack (small bottle of milk). No logs or kindling for log burner. View from back of cottage spoilt by messy and junk strewn garden. Nice location with good pubs in village that did good food, just check what days they open.”
