”2rd stay at this hotel. Refused upgrade said not available. Had to argue for a 1 1/2 hour late checkout we did get a one hour late( why not give the extra 1/2 hour we asked for. No free parking mentioned. We never ate at this hotel too expensive. The bar is small and difficult to find a seat except spillover in hall. Bar staff were very nice but to busy to talk and drinks were crazy expensive. The bathroom sink only produced scalding hot water or cold.😡 For a five star we expected better...

”We stayed in the Bootham suite, the room was light and airy and had a lovely small balcony to enjoy the sunshine. The four poster bed was very comfy and there was a small seating area to relax in. Breakfast was very good, everything is a la carte and the staff were very attentive. The hotel is in a great location, very easy walking distance into York but also very quiet and peaceful. The Pantry is a really nice touch but it was a shame that there wasn't a fridge in the room to keep drinks cool....

” I loved everything about Judges and would stay there again in a heartbeat! I stayed in a Character Double room. It was extremely spacious, had comfy bed and pillows, a view of the Minister, and a bath to soak in. The amenities are very well thought out and made me feel cared for (fluffy robe and slippers, washcloths, complimentary sparkling water and chocolates, quality bathroom products, and eye mask and earplugs - didn't need them because it was very quiet at night). ”Nice and modern hotel close to the centre and key locations. Only negative aspect was the really loud music playing in the lobby, which makes it quite annoying entrance everytime you return to the hotel. Luckily the sound insulation is top class and you can’t hear the music - or anything else for that matter - in the rooms. ”

”Your classic inn with worn down rooms and most basic breakfast. Uninterested staff who coukdn’t care less that there were BLOOD STAINS on the rug of our room. Got another room which after confirming two times was not similar than the bloody one we left behind. ”

”What a beautiful room! Great to have a sofa and a big tv with lots of channels to choose from. Slept fairly well, but there was no aircon and the windows opened just a little bit. It’s a bit far from the city centre but totally walkable. Train station about 10 min walk away. It was a lovely stay overall, but very pricey.”

Lovely, tree lined street with period homes. Not far from a little Sainsbury’s market, short taxi ride from the train station. We look forward to coming again in the future. ”
