    This recently renovated traditional cottage is located in a wonderful rural spot in Stenness, just 4 miles from Stromness and benefitting from stunning views across the Bay of Ireland to the Hoy Hills. Ireland Bay beach can be accessed by a short 50m walk down the farm track across the road from the cottage.
    We've given the property a top-to-bottom refresh, with a brand new kitchen, bathroom, roof and more to make your stay super comfy, rain or shine.

    Guests return year after year, but there’s still so much more for new visitors to discover.

Our host was brilliant at communicating and in the prep of the property for our arrival. Very welcoming experience, from the info about the property and the area prior our stay; including reaching out straight away to offer any suggestions, assistance, etc. AND fantastic local crafted treats awaiting our presence!Location was perfect for us at it was easy to get to many of the monuments, shops, ferry and walk paths. We certainly would enjoy repeating this experience at this wonderful cottage. Wonderful attention to detail in the interior design and furniture /fixtures. The instructions manual was very thorough and provided timeframes of programming for heating and we found no need to ‘extend’ any of those for comfort. A treasure of a property!!!

Withi-Gill was a beautiful cottage in a remarkable landscape -- views of Hoy and Graemsay were beautiful (when the weather cooperated, which was most days), and with a short walk, views of much of the western part of Mainland Orkney, including Stromness. The facilities were great, and the cottage was well-equipped for our needs. There's access to a small beach across the road and down a short track along the former millrun. Access to the rest of the mainland by car was easy and especially convenient for Stromness, Stenness, and the "heart of neolithic Orkney" sites (Brodgar, Stenness, even Skara Brae wasn't that far away). The only downside is that the cottage faces a main road down (see photo) which the locals drive very fast all day and night, which can be noisy at times. Finally, Simon was an excellent host, even though we never met in person! All in all, a great stay for us.
