”The room, separate to and, around the back of the pub was stunning. It was warm and cosy with a controllable radiator for heat. Bed was very comfortable and we had a great night sleep. No shower, but a lovely bath with a handheld shower head. Perfect place to stay before starting the Thames Path. Food was elevated pub fare, and brekkie was the standard full English.”

Most of the staff were very nice and helpful, though there's an expectation that you already know things and the anticipation that you are going to ask things that are wildly off target. ”We were upgraded by the delightfully kind manager to a room with a bath. As we were walking the Thames Path this was hugely appreciated - a wonderful clawfoot bath and a good shower. The room was large, light and beautiful. There was a little noise as we were above the bar, but only at a low hubbub and it didn't impact our sleep at all (I'm a very light sleeper). Dinner was delicious, as was breakfast. The New Inn exceeded our expectations.”
