”I had issues (twice...) with the codes not working when trying to enter my room which made me feel unsafe especially when this happened midnight. Reception is not open after 10pm so I received help via Whatsapp and staff was helpful. Other things that lower my rating were the metal beds that made a lot of noise. Also the whole floor only had 2 showers working. I have never had to wait to shower in hostel before. I wish toilets had more hooks to put towels/clothes in and rooms had mirrors....

”Stayed here for a quick trip with my husband and loved the location and how close it is to Japantown eateries. The hotel is beautiful and nicely appointed. The lobby has plenty of seating if you’d like to hang out and in the morning have coffee and tea. Our room was spacious, clean, and very modern. We had a soaking tub in our bathroom which was a nice touch. We were able to walk to dinner and our concert at The Fillmore easily. ”Room was clean, updated, and spacious. The outside does not match to updated interior…..don’t let it put you off. We checked in at 3pm on a Sunday so we had easy parking in their lot. I’m sure that’s trickier at other times. Sidenote: we got food delivered from Extreme Pizza, highly recommend.”

”Star Motel was a great place to stay for our weekend trip to SF. It was centrally located near multiple public transit options and a variety of shops and restaurants. The motel itself was clean and comfortable, and the staff was welcoming and kind. The only drawback to the location, is that the motel is located on a busy road and we could hear louder trucks and motorcycles driving through the night, but other than that it was perfect!”

”The room was spacious and clean! Bedding was very nice and comfortable. The location was central and close to the Opera House which was the reason for our visit. We did have a hard time finding a restaurant close by after the performance and ended up eating next door to the hotel at Mel's. Not exactly a meal to remember but it honestly wasn't bad. Parking garage was very convenient and dare I say affordable at $49 with in/out priledges. I would definitely stay at the Courtyard location again! ”

”It has good location on quiet street. Free parking. Excellent service on front desk. The hotel was dated, but pretty clean. Earplugs are must. Breakfast is free, it includes coffee, bread, eggs and cereals. The hotel bit pricey for value, but i think in SF it might be difficult to find good hotels for decent price. Overall this is OK place for few days stay ”
