”Great little spot where you have privacy and share common areas like kitchen, bathrooms, showers. The host was helpful and friendly. The pool was great. Peaceful place. We stayed one afternoon-evening before catching our red eye flight back to Hawaii. It was a nice spot to take a nap, enjoy the pool, and freshen up. Would like to go back and check out the tree house! Maybe next time :)”

”Very nice place, very kind of them to let late night travelers use the lounge space. But the architects who forgot to put fans in the bathrooms were stupid! Hot and humid in the restrooms and the poor cleaners have to go back multiple times each day. But a lovely hotel, great folks working there!”

”I stayed in the Kava bungalow which I thought was excellent. That said, the stairs to the loft where the main bed is are small and steep so something to keep in mind if you need to try to make it down to use the bathroom and back up in the dead of night. The grounds and the view are straight out of your favourite travel influencer’s TikTok, so that’s a highlight, for sure. And the food at the restaurant was great. ”Poor grounds around the bungalows. All walking paths were dirt. There were no amenities and the breakfast was sparse and not included. Staff was helpful though.”

”This is a great property if you wish to explore the south side of the island, or if you have your own vehicle. Unfortunately it is NOT 2.5 miles from the airport or the cruise ship port. It is on the opposite side of the island, Depending on traffic, a 90 - 150 minute drive. $115 taxi drive. You can get a 3 day tourist bus pass for 1 franc (a bus ride is 4 francs) but the busses stop running at 4:00 local time. ”Stayed a few nights before the ferry to Moorea. Close to the ferry terminal and everything else within walking distance too. Breakfast was good and worth the money.”

”We very much enjoyed our stay at Fare Arihau Vairoo. The room was lovely and comfortable. Our hosts were so friendly and welcoming and took care of us as though we were family. We ate dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. All the food was prepared by our host from local ingredients mostly grown in their own garden. All the food was exceptional and the service, some from our hosts little girls, was delightful.”

”Overall, it was a nice place for our one night stay. Room was nice and cold, but the common areas were hot and muggy which wasn’t ideal to hang around in all day waiting for a flight. The only other area to nitpick was the bathroom in the rooms: small space and door makes maneuvering a hassle. However, close to restaurants, airport and the market.”

”We had a two-storey room with a sea view and it was really nice. The view was amazing over a black beach facing the island of Moorea. The service in the hotel was good. The restaurant was full on Friday and you have to take a taxi to get to Papeete so if you want to eat in the hotel make sure to make a table reservation in advance. The breakfast buffet was not much but as it was not included in our stay we preferred a la carte breakfast which was good and affordable. ”

”The Teahupo’o surf break is basically directly out front (off-shore at the reef, of course) but water taxis are right at the shore by the front gate of pension so the location could not be better from that POV. It’s a short walk (5 minutes) on a nice beach path from the Teahupo’o photo wave spot and Olympic rings, or you can drive to the pension and park but only if you’ve got a vehicle capable of river-crossing - so that adds to the charm of the place as well.
