The cottage was of mid-century design that is badly in need of renovation (broken fixtures, uncovered electrical outlets, mold/mildew growth in the bathroom). It was a non-smoking room, but clearly people were smoking there. I think the place was emblematic of the Catskills as an area that once was a great place to visit, but has fallen into disrepair over the past several decades. ”
