My recent stay at this Marriott, booked through Expedia, was disappointing despite the friendly staff. Upon arrival, my room had a strong musky odor, like wet carpet. I was exhausted and assumed it was from the AC being off. Overnight, the temperature kept shifting from cool to warm, making it hard to rest. In the morning, I reported the issue and was told the AC wasn’t working. I was moved to another room, but having to repack and relocate was inconvenient.
Later, I finished my work early and changed my flight. I asked for a credit for the unused prepaid nights, but despite purchasing multiple “payment protection” options through Expedia, neither Expedia nor Marriott would issue a refund or credit. This made me feel the protections I paid for had no real value.
While the staff’s friendliness stood out, the room issue, the inconvenience, and the lack of flexibility with my reservation have left me unwilling to book with Marriott again or use Expedia for future travel.
