”Warm, cozy place, very nice rooms, short walk from the city center. Always friendly Toni prepares delicious breakfasts. We highly recommend Chestnuts House, as well as the the city of Bath. ”

”Great stay just after Christmas. Check-in times are limited, but it was very easy to get in following the instructions. Room and the whole hotel was really nicely furnished and decorated with good taste. Everything was clean. Breakfast was also really good with different varieties to order. Peaceful location with about 10 min walk to the city center. Can highly recommend this hotel.”

”The place was great but we just happened to go during a historical heat wave and there was no AC ! The staff were super helpful and gave us a Dyson fan but the heat was unbearable at times . The place is nice and very close to all attractions. The room was cozy and comfortable . We would have eaten there but instead looked for dining places that had AC so we could cool off !”

”We just loved this place. This hotel is within walking distance from the train station. They do offer complimentary luggage pickup, but it was not available when we arrived because we requested it too late. This is a beautiful boutique hotel with a vintage radio, and vintage record player and standing tub. They offer complimentary cookies, drinks and ice cream. The staff was very helpful and extremely pleasant. We had a great time.”

”We really enjoyed our stay at The Francis Hotel. It was five years since we last stayed there and the difference made by their extensive renovations is amazing! Beautiful rooms, even the small ‘cosy’ rooms, with thoughtful and artistic decoration and amenities. We stayed in the really hot weather and the great AC was very welcome! It’s in a fantastic location and we will definitely return.”

”A very beautiful and unique hotel in a spectacular area just away from the tourist drag of Bath city center. The hotel has alot of character and period decor. Its an old hotel, so the heating was nit on, understandibly so as it was May. The plumbing is also not updated, so there is a hot tap and a cold tap at the sink. The facilities are adequate for a shorter stay. The hotel is being upgraded, so there was alot of noise above us for our 2 night stay. The staff are friendly and helpful.”

”Amazing breakfast”

”Room was small but clean enough. The big problem with us was the stairs and no lift. We were at the top of the hotel and quite a few flights of stairs . We are in our 70s and had two suitcases about 45lbs each. Ended up leaving them in the car and just taking what we needed from them for the night. We are from Canada and I understand a lot of hotels in Britain are like that.”
