”This is a great property, spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Also in beautiful surroundings….so why not 5 stars? I was here for three nights so the “cons” outweighed the “pros” for me. Firstly, it was (and still is) advertised as having FREE WIFI. This is important to me as I was here for work and need internet access when I’m working away. Reality - there is no internet! I did find an EE mobile wifi router in one of the kitchen drawers, but once I switched it on and connected to it,...

”The room was great. We stayed in 1A. Clean and spacious. Just needs a mirror in the room so you dont have to stand with bathroom door open when drying hair. Breakfast was yummy. Plenty of continental to choose from. Staff very courteous and professional. ”

”A very pleasant stay - stayed for a couple of nights whilst working in the area. All staff were very pleasant. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The hotel is in a very quiet area with lots of scenic countryside around to see. Just be aware that the rooms are on the 3rd floor and there are only stairs for access, but that is to be expected with a listed building.”

”The cottage is in need of a deep clean. The bed around the mattress was filthy with dust, hair and cobwebs underneath. The same behind the bedside cabinets. The vinyl sofa in the lounge smelt like a regiment of overweight sweaty men had spent a few summers sitting on it and gently marinating the vinyl until it stunk of stale sweat. We had to disinfect the entire thing with spray. It still smelt bad afterwards. One for the local tip I would suggest. ”
