”This place was marvelous. It’s even better than the pictures make it look. Don’t hesitate. Book now. It’s be a yearly retreat for us if we didn’t have to pay for airfare to Costa Rica too. The manager lives next door and is super helpful as she understands the area well, and even runs her own coffee shop down the road from the house. If you rent a vehicle, make sure to get a 4x4. We went in the rainy season, and in addition to navigating potholes everywhere (not on the property, but on the roads...

”My family and I had a wonderful stay at Chalet Escondido. We saw many different types of wildlife such as the Coati, Walking Stick Bug, Bats, Giant Red-Winged Grasshopper and the Howler monkeys. We could hear and see the monkey daily during our stay. During our time here we did many day trips to various beaches. Our favorite was Playa Negra, not too busy and nice waves for families and renting surf boards. We also made it down to Nosara which we really liked as well. Overall a great place for...

”A cute house on a patio with a pool. The house could use a little updating (a few ripped screens, older couch, etc), but the A/C in the bedrooms worked well and the patio has several trees, so it's well shaded. The owner found us some boogie boards and beach toys for my kids to use- so kind! No mosquitos which was a huge plus! A few hiccups finding the house- near the end of a dirt road. Walkable to the beach, but the road is so dusty when cars go by that's it not an altogether appealing...
