”We had a brilliant stay at the Hygge, it is tucked in the corner surrounded by open countryside, just beautiful. The quietness was appreciated and lovely.
The Hygge itself was spot on, well maintained and very clean. We found it to be a very comfortable and practical place to stay. We could have easily spent longer there and look forward to returning ”

Beds comfy and plenty of towels.
Lots of sockets for charging etc.
breakfast was fab.
Still and sparkling water in reception free of charge is a lovely touch.
Pool facilities excellent and warm.

”This is an excellent, value for money budget hotel. Most facilities are at par with what you would expect from a budget hotel but most outstanding feature is its very helpful staff. Adam is a star. He went above and beyond with anything we needed help with. All other staff we interacted with - Sumit, Helen, Caroline - were all very kind and helpful. Kudos to the management for hiring such awesome people.
The next door pub waggon team is also an asset, good food at reasonable prices.

”Set in lovely countryside views, owners & staff all veey friendly & helpful, fabulous choice of breakfasts, meals available during evening also with a varied menu including gluten free. No hesitation in recommending The Royal Oak for any length of stay, wish we could have stayed for longer!!!!”
”We stayed for one week due to a conference trip.
- The biggest negative comes from the very stinking room. Even though the air conditioning was effective you can't air the room as windows don't open. All the clothes smell really bad now
- The bed very noisy and uncomfortable. Anytime anyone moved in the bed it made a loud noise, woke up for that several times in the night, also had very uncomfortable pillows.
- The sheets had stains
- Not noise proof room as advertised in the room description!...

We Liked how they are promoting local small businesses with the mugs in room and other items for sale in the lobby area. Staff are friendly and professional. Breakfast was fantastic and he’s very comfortable. ”
”Worst hotel ever in Europe. And yes, in this case I include Russia in Europe. Room stank like years of smoking, bathroom like piss. Piss stains on the toilet seat, whole rainbow of different coloured stains on all of the towels and bedding. Noisy and a spot light pointing at the window. Arrogant and unhelpful older woman at the reception (this one was definetly no lady). Avoid if you're travelling alone, can't say anything about the bigger rooms, but assume the worst.”
