”We really enjoyed our stay, the property is so quiet at night, the host was very helpful and the breakfast choice was excellent. We only stayed one night on our way to Stornoway but if we're ever this way again we'll stay at Midtown B&B.”

”No advanced notice that lift wasn't working. No ideal with 2 guest with mobility issues and 3 flights of stairs yo rooms. Also found it odd that there's no secondary glazing for noise in room but yet there was in restataunt. Breakfast was average but bacon hard and overcookec under heat lights. Didn't have the best of choices. All in all very average stay”

”Basic clean accommodation. Excellent host a genuinely friendly good man, nothing was too much trouble. Full English breakfast was included and was spot on. Very hard to fault for the price. Parking is remote from the property and is in a private car park. It looks a bit shady but 2 motor bikes were there overnight without issue.”

”A welcoming and helpful check-in at this stunning Victorian hotel right next to the train station and shops. The rooms were spotlessly clean and cosy with comfy beds, full of amenities. The staff were friendly. Thanks again! (also for storing my mountain bike) :)”

”Breakfast was fresh choice of way you like your eggs cooked. Room is what you would expect, so quiet and relaxing.. Owner of the establishment could not do enough for us, so helpful, let us know when the bus times into Carlisle were, and, where local shops were. Definitely stay again ”

”The staff were some of the best we have ever met and met our needs perfectly. They ensured we had a room that was suitable and went the extra mile to achieve this so a big thank you. The property is in the process of being updated but this didn't affect our stay except perhaps to see how well it appears to be going and I'm sure when this is finished they will have a hotel to be proud of. They have only owned this hotel for about 6 months and it is obvious they are making huge efforts to update...

”Very nice staff. Straight forward public house atmosphere. Beer tasting and band playing downstairs well into the evening, but not a significant issue. Nice breakfast and really beautiful surroundings.”

”The 3 course meal was al a carte status, excellent made by chef/ owner. Lovely bedrooms and v clean and owners very welcoming. Lovely views and walks nearby. For children the wildlife park is worth a visit nearby. ”
