By 1889 the mill was fitted with a turbine and roller milling machinery by Henry Simon of Manchester; the turbine was appropriate as the Torridge is liable to flood. The mill has been converted to a private residence

Very friendly staff, hot tub wasn’t up to temp on our arrival but staff were very apologetic and we were not charged for it that evening. The Lodge was very clean, good quality bedding and toiletries.

What an amazing stay, this is a beautifully kept property, with nice beach views and the host provided outstanding welcome gifts (wine, chocolates, pastries) and was very responsive.I look forward to visiting again.
