”It is impossible to overstate the standard of the Wensleydale Heifer. The awards affirm the restaurant quality and the standard of accommodation.
What they do not evidence is the attention to detail that every member of staff personifies.
This is the first opportunity we have had to stay at the Heifer, although we have eaten here before. The hotel was everything we hoped for and will become our "go to" place in the Dales.

”The Hotel has a lot of character and is in a beautiful location in the Dales. We watched lambs playing in the field as we had breakfast. There are great walks on to the Dales or down to the river from the front door. The staff were very friendly, and we had a lovely restful stay.”

”We asked for a late check out and even though the hotel was absolutely empty - (we were the only two people at breakfast in a room that could seat 100) the hotel still denied a late checkout (personally I think 11am checkout is too early) so we were charged an extra £20 for a 12pm checkout. When the room costs £500 per night this is totally outrageous. The hotel was empty so it would have been a nice gesture to offer a 1pm checkout given at most high end hotels 12pm is standard. Very...

”We stayed 3 nights on a B&B basis. The breakfast was very good and the gentleman serving was friendly and good humoured. Our evening meals were variable in quality but I couldn't fault the rump steak! There was an excellent choice of quality beer. The staff were without exception helpful and pleasant. The hotel is very well located in a charming village with easy access to many beautiful places ”
