”Staff were very efficient and friendly. I have disability, someone had parked across the space outside and I let reception know. The disabled spaces need repainting as they are very worn. Bar staff very good, we didn't use restaurant. Lovely bathroom. Bed comfortable. Wardrobe doors creaked very badly, maybe some WD40 on the hinges would help! Good view. Lovely hotel and we enjoyed our stay and will be returning.Very happy with our short break here at the Royal.”

”Don't go there! Booked a room at The Savoy but was marched five doors down to a slum formerly called The Birchfield (name now covered up with sticky tape). TV hanging off the wall, curtains falling away, disgusting bathroom. One to avoid.”

”Room basic, pretty quick check-in, top floor, surprised when we found out that breakfast was included for us and theb2 grandkids. Car charger in car park. Not bad for price on carnival night.”

”Great location, but overly hot with hard to control heating and a little tired and dated. Access to the large parking area is very tight. Not practical if you drive a 4x4”

”The staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. We were sadly there as dad was in palliative care..We had flown in from canada, with broken leg, they let us check in early and were very kind. Room was great for accessibility but it did smell a bit musty/damp - but then had wet room so maybe that is why. ”

”We booked about an hour before we were due to arrive and everything was excellent with our room. Considering the price the rooms are set up with anything you might need (even including a bottle opener!) We were welcomed by very helpful staff.”

”Check in very slow and after travelling 3 hours with elderly disabled parents, our room was not ready, which is understandable. But the only offer to get changed for a wedding was in the changing rooms a flight of stairs down or the toilets! The girl on reception was adamant there wasn’t any other option available and was very unconcerned of the needs for my disabled mother. Breakfast the next morning was also very poor and hardly any hot food left on the buffet. The disable room wet room was...

”The B&B is definitely the best in my experience. Bedroom as well as bathroom are very clean and tidy. The paper folders in bathroom is antique-wise. Also electrical equipments are convenient and cool. Coffee server and fridge are stylish. Lights are well designed. Breakfast is delicious and plenty. Graham’s homemade jams are excellent. All aspects are perfect for my family. Thanks Graham. Best regards”

”It was a nice property overall, but our room reeked of cigarettes, now my clothes also smell of cigarettes :-( We booked a second room for the rest of the family and that was much nicer. Helpful staff, nice restaurant with a delicious breakfast. Beautiful sunset over the restaurant terrace.”

”A very cool/reserved welcome. Check-in seems like an effort. Quickly settled and sat outside for a drink - went inside because the language was disgusting. The swearing inside was no better and neither was the misogynistic comments from the senior members. Good place to stay but let down by the clientele”
