âPaid for a suite , room itself was lovely and large , beautiful bathroom. When we arrived at the room in the afternoon all the bedroom curtains were closed , including the ones to the outdoor balcony. Once we opened them we realised why âŠâŠ a massive building project , scaffolding etc literally metres away from our room , so much for the garden view .
Room was looking a bit tired cosmetically but still lovely , house keeping must only clean from eye level down as when I got into bed the ceiling...

âWe stayed in the Bootham suite, the room was light and airy and had a lovely small balcony to enjoy the sunshine. The four poster bed was very comfy and there was a small seating area to relax in. Breakfast was very good, everything is a la carte and the staff were very attentive. The hotel is in a great location, very easy walking distance into York but also very quiet and peaceful. The Pantry is a really nice touch but it was a shame that there wasn't a fridge in the room to keep drinks cool....
