”The hotel is ideally situated - while not being in an immediately picturesque location, its proximity to the M6, A66 and Penrith North Lakes railway station make it the perfect base for exploring the beauty of the Lake District in one direction and Yorkshire in the other. The staff are excellent, particularly in the FYR restaurant: friendly, helpful and attentive. The food is equally impressive and the hotel itself is clean, comfortable and a pleasure to stay in. ”

”This is my third stay at the Indigo and it did not disappoint. My daughter is a U.S. student at Durham and so we love the proximity to her college and the town. The staff is very helpful and accommodating, and the property is clean. The bar and restaurant are both good as is the cafe in the lobby. The Indigo is my hotel of choice when in Durham and I highly recommend it!”

”I booked the Pickled Parson for an overnight stay. The hotel and Sedgefield were both lovely. The staff were excellent, welcoming and explained all we needed to know at check-in, which included completing a breakfast form and time for breakfast. This wasn't needed immediately, but sometime before the end of the evening. The bar area was busy, but had enough tables and chairs, there was also a small seating area outside overlooking the village green and in the shadow of the village church, a...

”A beautiful, rural retreat. Wonderful facilities, extremely clean and homely. Comfortable bed with lots of in room extras, like home made shortbread, fresh milk with a mini fridge to store it in, lovely toiletries and a modern bathroom. Breakfast was freshly cooked using local produce, hence the brilliant taste. Excellent hosts who were so helpful, kind and genuinely interested and keen to assist and make our stay as nice as possible. Highly recommended. ”
