âAbsolutely stunning, historic property. Exceeds expectation. If you like Four Seasons, this far outshines. Property, accommodations, staff, and location are outstanding. We stayed in beautiful hotels in Portugal--this one is far/away the finest. Location is in the center of the historic, beautiful, charming village, which cannot be missed for meals, strolling, photos, etc. Highly recommend making the trip to the Arouca Geo Park for the Paiva Walkways and the suspension pedestrian...
âThe property itself is beautiful, we went for a hike along the trail and was lovely. Amenities are great, a small but very useful gym and of course many pools on sites. All of the restaurants on site are great. The Michelins restĂł is a great experience.
I booked a lymphatic massage and facial and that was not a good experience felt very unprofessional and highly overpriced in terms of the experience received. â

âAmazing place! Great buffet breakfast and also an option to have the breakfast on the barrel terrace. The only minus was that I was travelling with a friend and requested to have two separate blankets. There was an extra in the closet but no cover to it. When calling again to ask for the separate blanket we were broaght 4 extra sheets but still no cover to the extra blanket. (The barrels seem to be more for couples travelling but it would be nice if the hotel would accomodate for others as well...
âExcellent value if you can accept the compromises. The room was old, but clean. The main issue was nois. Everything in the building was noisy. People taking a shower or flushing the toilet just resonates from other rooms. Air conditioning was also really loud. Add to that all the noises from the neighborhood.
Nevertheless, I slept like a baby for 4 nights here after spending the days in and around Porto.
Breakfast is very basic but included, so again you can't beat the price.
