”Lovely period hotel with good decor and clean throughout; staff also friendly and helpful. Only minor gripes were noisy creaking floorboards in room above and inability to get on the Wi-Fi. Gave a low ecofriendly score as unable to reduce room temperature (other than opening a window) and shower gel and shampoo in individual disposable bottles. Great place to stay though :-)”

”Had stayed here before was really impressed however this trip a lot different room not great so did an upgrade expensive also paid to have breakfast for two people the food is lovely Went off for the day to Grimsby for a funeral of an old army mate after a long day came back to find the room not cleaned bed not made no fresh towels on the wife asking for it to be sorted a female receptionist said don’t just want new towels !! Not a great response after paying a lot extra to upgrade the room ”

”Absolutely spot on, although the rooms are a little dated they are super clean and spacious. The evening meal choice is great, and the quality is excellent and not over priced. Ideal hotel if you’re visiting the museum as it’s only a 5 minute drive away. Overall we had a brilliant weekend.”

”A lovely hotel and nice staff. Good location, not precisely in the heart of the city but very close. The general feeling was relaxed. The room was great and we only had positive things to say about the room and the tidiness of the hotel in general, but I must say that the breakfast could've been slightly better. That's the only thing that prevented me from giving a 5-star rating. Looking forward to my next visit anyway (hopefully with even better breakfast).”
