”The facility is a beautiful historic building with picturesque grounds. Unfortunately we were only there for 1 day. Food and wine were terrific and the very busy owners helped us with some very silly requests to operate the radiator and find global news on the TV. I highly recommend this fine hotel!”

”Luxurious comfy apartment in the heart of the delightful small town. Fully equipped with everything youll need. Never any trouble parking directly opposite the property, though it was outside of peak period. My only complaint is local takeaways not staying open long enough. ”

”Spent the first half hour hoovering cobwebs from bedrooms....toilet floor was damaged and spongy......little disappointing really because we've stayed in this block of cottages before.....”

”Room was basic but functional. It lived up to my expectations. Ideal for an overnight stay. Shower was warm and practical.”

”Very nice hotel, all the staff we dealt with were very polite and friendly. The cooked breakfast was cooked fresh, we had one evening meal which was very nice. The only downside was that the Spa was being renovated, I would definitely use this hotel again.”

”Parking space was a great plus. A nice old traditional pub with plenty tables outside. Bed comfortable enough for one night stay. Good, powerful shower. Delicious full english breakfast. Dining room was a little fusty and in need of a some TLC and the evening meal was a bit overpriced for what it was but still an overall charming stay in this gorgeous location. ”

”Warm comfortable room in lovely hotel that is walking distance from lake. House was where Beatrix Potter took holidays & she eventually bought it for her mother. Love the whimsical touches such as carpets & wallpaper. Easy private parking included. Stairs to rooms on first & second floors but staff help with luggage if needed. Dinner & breakfast at the hotel restaurant were good.”

”We stayed in the Love Haven which was lovely and we had a lovely stay but have to give a bad review on the basis we went to shower in the morning before check out and noticed water was dripping through one of the lights downstairs. We immediately turned it off due to health and safety. When we reported to reception we were told oh yeah maintenance know about it but it’s a big job. When I queried this being a health and safety issue, I did not get a response. They also did not seem bothered that...

”I always check the cleanliness of bedding when staying away from home, and two of the three beds were found to be damaged. The support slats for one single bed were either missing, broken or unsecured, and the frame of another double was broken and a pillow positioned on top of the frame to help support the mattress. The single bed was unsafe and the double is uncomfortable. Sleeping arrangements proved to be inconvenient for our group of four. Shabby throws covered both sofas, which are not...

”Staff were very friendly and efficient, the hotel is very clean and well looked after, the rooms are spacious and well kept, great location, only a few minutes walk into the centre and 5 minutes from the Lake.”
