”Centrally located, near the lake, allows dogs. Needs grip strips on the stairs for dogs. Gets warm when the sun shines, at the top of the building! Is on the main road so some traffic noise. Is a fabulous property and we had a wonderful stay, would book again.”

They took our luggage up to our room which went over and above what we would race as good service. Throughout our stay, Paul and Kate were wonderful , friendly, knowledgeable & helpful hosts. ”High Ridge is perfectly situated right in the middle of Ambleside. However, it really does need some TLC. There are damp patches on the walls , the bed linen is rather questionable, & the window blinds are just simply dreadful . They let light in, don’t work properly & are very tatty indeed.
The furnishings are of poor quality & there are just far too many dreadful pictures on the walls.
The kitchen & bathroom are good but the rest of the property needs a jolly good face lift . Having said...
”My sister and I spent just a couple of nights here and truly fell in love with the house and staff. Every interaction was easy and kind, the house was incredibly well kept, and the grounds were gorgeous. It's located a bit out of the way which is perfect for minimizing crowds and noise! Our room was perfectly sized and the bed/bedding comfortable. All in all, a 10/10. Highly recommend to anyone in any stage of life.”
