Matkat – Bilton

Was very annoyed that when we checked in, we had to pay a £50 deposit for the room which we were told that we get back as soon as the cleaners have checked the room, we were not aware of this beforehand, plus, when we checked out, we were told its 2 to 3 days before the money goes back on our card, the bathroom and bedroom were very clean, apart from cobwebs on the walls in the bedroom, the bathroom seriously needs updating, all the screws were rusty and looked a mess where the rust had ran, and there was no plug for the bathroom sink, so you couldn't have a wash or shave in the sink, there's also a lack of plug sockets in the bedroom, there was 2 single sockets near the desk, obviously 1 is used for the TV and the other one we had to use for the fan as the room was so hot, but we also had to keep unplugging that if we wanted to use the socket for the kettle, and to charge our phones in turn, We paid nearly £100 a night for this and was very disappointed, we have stayed in far nicer hotels for less, we also went to go for a walk around the back of the hotel to the lake, however just around the corner at the end of the hotel there were gypsy's parked up, The cleaners and the staff were nice and polite, but the rooms seriously need more maintenance,

Our room was typical for a Premier Inn - clean, comfy bed but just provided the basics. The weather during our stay was very hot - rooms are not air conditioned. A fan was provided, but the window was small so not much air circulation. Leaving the window open masde the room noisy from the pub customers and then all night from the adjacent and busy A45.
