”The rooms were really nice and the staff were lovely.
Breakfast was laid out at 9pm, which I understand due to it being an airport hotel however this then meant that come the morning, there was not much of anything left over. There was 1 pastry left at 7.30am, and no staff until around to replenish this. ”

”Great staff, clean and tidy room, good location with easy car parking. Great food including very good options for my coeliac wife. This is a quaint more traditional style of hotel with it seemed like only six rooms. You still get a room key attached to a fob rather than the key cards you tend to get nowadays and the flooring is a little sloped in places all adding to the charm. We had just a one night stop over but would be happy to return.”

”A very pleasant stay at “The Carps”.
Very pleasant, helpful, friendly staff.
The room was very pleasant with a comfortable bed and roomy shower room.
The room layout reflects the history of the property with a couple of shallow steps between the bedroom and shower.
We stayed for dinner and were rewarded by a tasty meal. A good selection of vegetarian options. Our usual habit of swapping plates half though very much went by the board.
Breakfast was very good with both millennial and traditional...

”Spotlessly clean, fabulous hosts and stocked with everything you could possibly need. Reading past reviews I was shocked at mentions of the floors being cold. It's an 18th century cellar for goodness sake!!! Stone floors are part of the charm. It is cosy and warm at this time of year (and I imagine lovely and cool in the summer).I would definitely stay again for its location, its cleanliness and its hosts. Can't fault it except for the mattress, which is a bit "argos" and could do with a good...
