”Very friendly and welcoming staff. This is a five hundred year old building so don't expect a Premier inn with nice even floors and shiny paintwork, however if you want a pub hotel with real character this place is a gem. Every member of staff was great and couldn't do enough to make the stay perfect. Unfortunately we didn't get to have a meal there but the breakfast is absolutely worth getting up for. We will be back. ”

We especially liked that you could always go to the reception area to pick up extra tea bags, coffee, sugar, etc. to use with the kettle in the room. During our three-day stay, the room was cleaned on request, and towels were changed upon request as well. When I asked for fresh towels, they arrived promptly—and as a lovely...

”I stayed in the hotel for a single night alone during my trip to England. The location is rather remote from the main city centre and the surroundings near the hotel are a bit dodgy, without any services nearby. On the positive side, the Strood train station is very near the hotel, so if using this station the location is very convenient.
