Matkat – Chassagne-Montrachet

All very good, dinner quality was great, excellent staff...

The hotel is quite new and rooms have a nice balcony/terrace. The rooms are quite well equipped, except for the fact you have to buy your own toilet paper.. I find it very amusing in a hotel that claims to be three star quality. Your room was otherwise nice, but it hadn't been vacuumed for a long time. The cleaning is only once a week and you'll have to pay for an extra cleaning, so we used a broom to clean the floors. We also had a dirty towel which we took to the reception and didn't even get an apology. The service was not very kind. We asked for a recommendation for some restaurant, and the answer was just "no". The location is in a very small French village it is a nice neighbourhood but not very close to anything. The bus goes there once an hour but the last bus in the evening leaves 10 pm, so it wasn't very useful. Bike is a good option, but make sure your bike has a lamp since not all the streets have street lamps. It takes about 15minutes to drive from Meyrin. If you count together the hotel fares, bike rent and buss fare, a hotel in the centre of Geneva is propably cheaper. For someone with a car this might even be a good hotel choice.
