Thunderbird Lodge is one of our favorite hotels at one of our favorite places. The rooms are clean and modern, staff is friendly, and the area is beautiful. E love it!

The lodge is in a great location just inside the national monument property. It's set in a very quiet, lush, beautiful spot. The room was clean and quiet. We loved our stay.

The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Room super clean. Located right next to Canyon de Chelly. We did not eat in the cafe as the dinner choices did not appeal to us so we cannot rate the food. We did not realize the the hotel also provided tours of the canyon. Worth checking out, although we were very happy our selection. I would stay here again if staying in the area.

This is a great place to stay if you’re going to the Canyon de Chelly. Definitely take the tour with the Thunderbird Lodge and Navajo guide.

This is an old.property.but that is part.of its charm. Set in a meadow at the mouth of Canyon de Chelly, this place.encouraged you to take liife at a slower peacrful pace! Well kept up, with new beds & linens. Grateful that they accept dogs too! There is a well-stocked gift shop and a reasonably-priced cafeteria on site. They can arrange tours of the canyon. We would def stay again!

The rustic and original design is the most intriguing part of the property! Though it is dated it is still pleasing and draws one in. Please don’t ever change the property.

Perfect location for driving the rim roads at Canyon De Chelly. The rooms are comfortable and relatively spacious. Canyon tours are available for those who want to see the canyon and ruins from the canyon floor. Incredible gift shop and the displays in the cafeteria should not be missed. Usually one expects to pay more for atmosphere. This is the best deal in Chinle, AZ.

We loved everything about the Thunderbird Lodge! The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was a discrepancy in our booking arrangements -- not the fault of the lodge -- and the staff worked to get things straightened out successfully. Our rooms were clean, nicely appointed and quiet. Housekeeping staff was great, too. The on-site cafeteria served a nice variety of food in large quantities, delivered with a smile! The grounds are well-kept and really pretty. We were very impressed. Since the lodge is inside the boundaries of Canyon de Chelly, you can't beat its location, either. So easy and convenient to all the sights the canyon has to offer. We'll most definitely be back to stay at the Thunderbird Lodge. Highly recommended.

The Thunderbird Lodge is an older historical property located directly across from the entrance to Canyon De Chelly. The rooms were clean and quiet, and the beds were firm but comfortable. All listed amenities worked well. The Lodge runs their own guided tours of the canyon floor which makes this a most convenient location for anyone visiting the canyon. We took a half day tour of the canyon, which I highly recommend. Tours are conducted using 3-axle Austrian made troop carriers. Our guide (Elton) expertly navigated the rough trails and water crossings, while giving us an informative history of the canyon and its ancestral people. This is the place to stay if Canyon DeChelly is your reason to visit.

Nice place to stay, beds were comfy, nice towels, good hot water, quiet. Felt bad for the overworked employees in the restaurant. The food was ok, biggest pancake in the world! Booth seats in restaurant were a little too low for me, I looked like a toddler at the table who needed a booster seat. Gift shop was pretty amazing. Rim tour was ok but we could do that ourselves, I'd opt for the interior tour instead.

nice place right at the base of the canyon but the town is dirty and one of the best hike/overlooks is closed due to crime

This please is at convenient location and need park. The staff are very nice. There are many bird in this area. No need to set up alarm to wake you up. The Birds will wake you up in the morning! :D

Everything was great except the coffee maker in the room and the brewer out of order in the dining room. Room was comfortable and homey. Staff very friendly
