”Very pleasant stay. Food offerings not as good as I had hoped, especially in the Grill. Disappointed that the restaurant was closed on Monday and Tuesday but afternoon tea was good. Staff attentive and rooms clean. Lovely setting.”

”Everything about this I would rate as 5* - except the bed. The bed had a slope (informed to proprietor but no reply yet) which meant for 3 nights I had poor sleep, fighting the slope. As the #1 thing to get right for any stay is the bed, this seriously affected this review and I was even mulling leaving a 2* rating because of that. However, I decided against it as I hope the proprietor will as a result of this review *replace the mattress* for the benefit of others.”

”Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food was excellent. Location is very good. Swimming Pool was excellent. Overall room was very good but could maybe do with improvements in the ensuite bathroom”

”We had a delightful stay. The room was lovely and clean. The pub downstairs was fantastic. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Recommend.”

”Kettle in room was dirty brown yellowy in the bottom asked for it to be cleaned to be told it had been cleaned so was unable to make a brew in the room. Breakfast was ok although fried egg was not cooked properly very snotty. Boiled eggs uncooked today. The woman had bad attitude the way she spoke to guest blunt and rude. Would not stay here again.”

”Bed was uncomfortable. Water pressure for the shower was weak. The room itself was great, and the free breakfast in the morning was delicious.”

”We stayed at the Horse and Farrier the night before our hike up Scafell Pike, it's only a 25 minute drive to Seathwaite Parking, if you're going up the corridor route. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. the food was lovely and the room we stayed in was clean, well presented and comfy. Definitely recommend eating nd staying here!”

”The 3 course meal was al a carte status, excellent made by chef/ owner. Lovely bedrooms and v clean and owners very welcoming. Lovely views and walks nearby. For children the wildlife park is worth a visit nearby. ”

”First impression of the hotel at check-in was exceptional- Stephen was very welcoming and friendly, and we knew it was going to be an incredible stay! In fact, encounters with the staff from bartender, restaurant and housekeeping were all friendly, engaging, and positive. The location was serene and relaxing with incredible 360-degree views of mountains and pastures! Inside, there were several cozy areas to relax and unwind. I would also recommend booking a dinner reservation for fine dining as...
