Great location, a bit loud, but we would recommend it
Everything was good. Easy check-in with early check- in for an extra £15, very central. A bit loud but it was ok. A little too small for 6 persons but we were just sleeping there. The couch was a little old and not suitable for adults… And the apartment was not very clean… The rest was good.

Everything you need
Great location close to main attractions of the city. Easy access to public transportation via short walk. Lots of restaurants, cafes and grocery nearby. Full laundry in apartment was a bonus to have. The place was tidy, however the high traffic touch areas on the walls and doors could use a deep cleaning. Overall a wonderful place to stay for our 5 days.

The apartment was perfect for my daughter & me.
The location, two separate bedrooms with comfortable big beds were a big plus. But best of all was the washer & DRYER! Most apartments I’ve rented have a washer, but no dryer. Only suggestion is to provide more towels. We’d stay here again if we return to Edinburgh.

Our Four-day Stay in Edinburgh
Being from the states, we forgot that the first floor overseas is NOT the ground floor. We had very heavy luggage and there is no lift. So we three 60+ women had to find a way to get it all up 27 steps! The apartment has wonderful beds! But there is no living room, as it appears in the pictures. The couch is in one of the bedrooms. The kitchen was adequate - we didn't do any cooking but there is a dishwasher and appliances to make tea and coffee. The bathroom is large, but I would recommend some kind of non-slip mat for the shower as the tub is very slippery. The washer/dryer worked well. There was a lot of graffiti outside the apartment, but once inside we felt safe. There was a lot of trash on the street outside the apartment so leaving the windows open wasn't an option. There was a Hop On/Hop Off bus stop right across the street, which was very convenient.

Decent flat in the theatre district
This is a nice flat with in walking distance of old and new town. Barry was prompt in responding to any questions before our stay. Self check in was a breeze and we were even allowed to check in early (for a fee). Which was worth it since we had an early arrival flight and could go directly to the flat with our luggage and relax for a bit before heading out for the afternoon. Our only disappointment was that we were hoping to use the kitchen facilities to cook breakfast daily and there was not a usable frying pan. We did use the oven once to heat up a pre made dinner. Be prepared to purchase a few extra supplies if you are planning on using the kitchen during your stay. The beds are very comfortable with down comforters that will keep you toasty warm. One thing to note if your not use to staying in the heart of a city is the pedestrian and street noise you will hear. The flat is near the corner of a busy road. It is not too bad, just something to note so you are aware you will not be staying in a quiet residential location. However that does mean there are lots of restaurants, shops, and theatres right around the corner.

Thank you for the nice review! I'm really sorry that there were not enough facilities in the kitchen for you although there is a frying pan which is stored in a drawer. I'm sorry you missed it. The kitchen is actually full stocked with pots, utensils, cutlery, plates, etc. If there was anything else you needed you should have got in touch. We're here to help!

Overall nice flat...free Netflix, comfy beds, amenities all very close by, the hallway/entrance into the building looked a bit scary, could benefit from some paint...overall nice location, very close to the castle.

This apartment is perfect located just a short walk from Old Town, Grassmarket and The Royal Mile.
For a week in the end of Oct and begin of Nov when Edinburgh gave us beautiful weather and a great vacation. Barry helpt us whenever we had a question in all ways. We did not spent much time in the apartment but it met all our wishes. Thanks Barry from us all

Great location, clean, and bright.
We loved this location. Short walk to Edinburgh Castle and many other attractions, restaurants, and pubs on our list. We made good use of the wonderful kitchen facilities. Sleeping arrangements were great and this unit would have easily accommodated two couples. Nice bathroom. The washer and dryer were a plus. We would consider this unit on another trip to Edinburgh.

Very good.
Property was convenient well equipped, clean and roomy. Loved the laundry option. Had some trouble getting keylock instructions. Needed more advanced info than the day of arrival because we were travelling and had limited access to wifi the day of. Caused us a bit of stress.

Eine sehr schön Wohnung, nicht weit vom Zentrum entfernt. Man kann vieles zu Fuß erreichen und in wenigen Tagen einen super Eindruck, dieser sehr schönen Stadt mit mittelalterlichem Flair, bekommen.

Convenient and Comfortable
The apartment is in a great location, close to restaurants and grocery stores. We were able to explore the city easily on foot. Enjoyed our visit immensely! Barry provided directions with photos, which made it easier to find the apartment. Without photos it would have been difficult. There was a self entry system, so we were able to arrive at our convenience. The apartment had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and the apartment was clean. Would recommend.

Good and safe location, clean, good restaurants nearby
The apartment was exactly as advertised by VRBO. Everything worked. Right in Old Town but really close to the Royal Mile, numerous reasonably priced restaurants nearby. The unit is cramped for a family of five but we had no issues with the size except when we tried to eat together. Since we ate at local restaurants for lunch and dinner this was not a problem. We felt very safe and enjoyed the open windows at night to cool us off from our July visit. Plenty of hot water for all of us to shower in the morning or evening and nice clean towels. Highly recommend this location for proximity to Edinburgh Castle and all of the shops along the Royal Mile. Washer and Dryer stackable unit worked perfectly. The neighbors were quiet and we never saw them. It would be nice if the owner kept a book with local tips and recommendations for groceries and dining options. We used one of our iPhones with data to get ratings for local eateries paired with Trip Advisor reviews and were never disappointed. The Japanese restaurant right across the street from the unit was a favorite for all of us. Cobble stone streets are hard on luggage wheels so make sure your gear can handle some rough terrain. We never met the owner/agent but never needed to. The keys were left for us in a key safe on the door since we were late on our transfer train from Glasgow. Check out was very easy. Owner/agent did communicate via e-mail and text message with quick responses. Highly recommend for the price and location.

Lovely accommodation!
This apartment was wonderful in every way for our family of 4. Everything we needed was provided. It had the perfect location, as we were close to restaurants, stores, attractions, etc. that always felt safe and welcoming. Barry was easy to reach regarding check-in/check-out. It was a fabulous place to stay and make memories while in a beautiful city. We can't wait to stay again!

Lovely Apartment
We were very pleased with our stay in this beautiful apartment. The beds were fresh, clean and very comfortable. It was great to have a kitchenette. We felt very safe behind two locked doors. A Starbucks was right across the street. We highly recommend this stay.

Rethinking VRBO
Although the appearance and amenities were great someone broke in to the flat using a key. The owner came to change the lock and was attentive. Flat was not in a bad neighborhood and it was very convenient but since this may become more common with VRBO I will not stay in one again.

This guest found her ipad at the bottom of her bag after placing this review so everything was great in the end. Unfortunately reviews cannot be removed or amended. Thank you for your comments about the appearance and amenities. We try our best to make it as homely as possible and have now added free Netflix. The apartment is right in the city centre and so is very convenient and is in a very safe neighbourhood! ;-)

Close to the castle and pubs
Love the location and place. Really high ceilings and lots of light. Castle was 10 min walk. Only thing was that you don’t really have a sitting area but we made it work.

Just right! Perfect location to explore EDB
Bright, spacious flat for up to four people. Perfect location to explore all of Edinburgh. The Castle, Grassmarket,the Royal Mile and University all a few steps away. The beds were very comfortable. We had everything we needed. We will definitely stay here again on a return trip to Edinburgh.

Overall a positive stay.
The apartment was as described, adequate for 5 as long as you are out most of the day. The sofa shown is in one of the bedrooms and unless you remade it everyday the only place to sit was on a bed or in the kitchen. It was great having free WiFi and 3 tv’s during the evening. The apartment was clean and bright overlooking the street. First impressive was not good as the hallway and curving stairs are dark and old looking. The apartment looked a lot better but is small. Great location to restaurants, coffee shops and some pubs. Lots of sirens so there must be a hospital nearby. The hot water supply could have been better. Heat was good. The minimal amount of towels were provided. There is a washer/dryer which we did not use being there only 3 days. Barry was there to greet us and we contacted him once and he was responsive. Beds were comfortable and with warm comforters. It met our needs for a short stay.

Fabulous, beautifully appointed apartment in a very central location
We stayed in Barry's apartment at the end of February whilst visiting Edinburgh for the Rugby Calcutta Cup. The apartment is centrally located and has been modernised to a high standard. The kitchen is well appointed with everything you need and the beds were really comfy. We used The Thistles car park in Semple Street which cost £35.00 for the weekend. It was a short walk to the apartment from there. We would certainly book this apartment again if we were staying in Edinburgh.

Perfect location
Such a wonderful apartment for a long weekend away. Managers are friendly, gave us a welcome package which included toothpaste. Sadly went to use it but was quite old and dusty. The hot water takes a while to come out of the taps, but apart from that the place was amazing

Ideale FeWo für einen Stadttrip in Edinburgh
Saubere, ordentlich ausgestattete Unterkunft, sehr zentral gelegen. OldTown, Castle, New Town, Dean Village, usw. gut zu Fuß erreichbar. Restaurants und Supermärkte in unmittelbarer Nähe. Wohnung einschließlich Küche, Bad und Mobiliar insgesamt sehr gut eingerichtet. Große Fenster, wohnliche Atmosphäre. Betten allerdings recht schmal und der zentralen Lage entsprechend wahrnehmbare Geräuchkulisse von der Straße her. Fazit: Empfehlenswert. Jederzeit wieder.

Excellent property and Barry was very nice to deal with and responsive.
The Flat was in a good location. Easily walkable to attractions and restaurants, train station and both old town and new town. Property itself was well equipped and very clean and new. No formal sitting area but one of the bedrooms is large and has a nice sofa and coffee table and we could use that as our sitting area as well as the eat in kitchen. Night noise from the bars and pubs one evening was a bit boisterous but we were on vacation so although we noticed it we weren’t overly bothered by it. Thanks so much for a lovely place to stay in awesome Edinburgh. We would highly recommend this property.

This has been our best VRBO rental to date. The good: The apartment was very clean. The beds were comfortable! There were lots of pillows, and a tv in every room. The location was good, although expect to do a lot of climbing as it is at the bottom of historic Edinburgh. The owner was very responsive. The bad: Really nothing. On Friday and Saturday night, it was a little loud - partying on the street.

Great place within walking distance to castle and royal mile
We had a lovely stay in Edinburgh with our three children age 10-17. We walked to all the sights, there were several grocery stores close by, and plenty of restaurants. The flat was nice and clean, with a good size kitchen, very well equipped, and a television set in every room. We would love to stay there again.

Nice apartment, great location
Comfortable apartment two streets away from Edinburgh castle in walking distance to the centre. Busstop closeby, and cheap carpark in Riegostreet. The apartment is well equipment, just don't try to make a full meal as there is very little in kitchentools like pans and such. Lots of tv's though (3!) but the city is attractive enough and there's lots to do so you will hardly use those. Great beds and linnen. Good communication with the owner, we loved our stay there.

Quiet apt in good location .
Quiet, bright apt just below castle. Very clean except for mildew on shower curtain. Well furnished and equipped, but some cleaning supplies: sponge, paper towel and soap would be nice in the kitchen. The dark opaque curtains were a boon in view of the long days. I would rent again.

Esta muy acogedora y limpieza, esta en muy buen sitio, es esta casi en el centro de la ciudad.
Es una casa para ir a visitar la ciudad, esta al lado del centro, al lado del castillo y justo en la zona de restaurantes, la casa está estupenda lo malo es la entrada al edificio que es sució y muy antiguo.
