”The George was brilliant. We were travelling to Islay and it was intended as a stop off. We loved it! From the moment of our arrival, welcome from the staff was great, rooms lovely and bar / restaurant excellent. Food was superb. I can only recommend it to anyone travelling in that area.”

”We could only get wifi in the bar; no use of our phones in our room. The shower is a hand held in a big tub. Water pressure could be stronger. The hotel has a wonderful breakfast which was included. We also had a delicious dinner in their restaurant. Lovely views of the lake if you book a room on that side of the building.”

”Lovely views of Loch Awe. The driver wasn’t so happy about the long single track road but the other two enjoyed the solitude and quiet at the end of the road. Rooms are comfortable and all different.”

The hotel has some clear positives: the location is very beautiful, right by the loch, and the setting is peaceful and atmospheriс, the staff are nice and friendly. The rooms were generally comfortable, and the building itself has charm. However, our overall experience was only okay, and I would probably not choose to stay here again.
