”Dirt in the room and under the bed. Staff generally good. Booking came with a room upgrade due to status. Room upgrade didn’t occur despite the hotel being empty and having availability on their website.
Emailed the hotel through Expedia app (replying to the message they sent me) asking questions. That was ignored and not responded to.
Dinner food quality was poor considering my the level they quote themselves to be at and prices charged. Ice cream for dessert clearly suffering from freezer burn...

”Great location and the restaurant was excellent, however no privacy curtains in room and the room lacked air con. Bathroom needs a refresh. Paying £6 a day on top of the room charge, which isn't cheap, creates a bad feeling about the place. Also this process of biding for an upgrade, just to get a decent room, is unpleasant. Just tell me the price!!”

”Brownover Hall hotel is a beautiful and grand building. The rooms are nicely decorated and feel luxurious, but comfortable. The team at the hotel are friendly and welcoming and the restaurant is great too. ”Beautiful old main building and well constructed new wing that blended seamlessly with the old main Hall.
However, due to the layout and lack of lifts it meant a really long walk from our room to the main reception area.
The Hotel seemed to have a lack of staff - the very nice mature lady at reception, was multitasking and ended up carrying our bags up to the room. This staff shortage manifested itself later when we went to have dinner - to be told that the gas was off in the kitchen and...
