”This was a fun place to stay while visiting the battle field. The village was very interesting with many small shops.
The room appeared to be recently renovated and staying above a pub was a fun experience. The pub itself was also excellent.
Our only complaint was lack of air conditioning...which resulted in us opening a window...and listening to traffic (the road out front is very busy)
All-in-all, I would strongly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area”

”The staff were very polite nd friendly. The room was very spacious with a large comfortable bed. There was a kettle with loads of tea, coffee, sugar and milk supplied. There was a shower in the bathroom . With very large towels which smelled lovely . Lots of shampoo, shower gel snd body lotion supplied. I will definitely be going back ”

”Stayed at Chequers Inn, Battle, for three nights and we were very happy with the Inn and its location. We had a very comfortable stay and the staff were friendly. Would stay again if I was in Battle. About equal distance from the railway station and the town centre.”

”A quirky hotel - very old in parts plus newer extension. We had a spacious bedroom with 2 armchairs and a very comfortable bed. A modern bathroom, but with little shelf space to put toiletries or toothbrushes (a tumbler, perhaps?). Some complimentary toiletries provided. We booked to eat in the restaurant each night and were not disappointed with the quality or quantity of the dishes. Breakfast was cooked to order. All members of staff very friendly and helpful. ~Although we did not use...

”We enjoyed our stay at Bannatyne spa hotel. The executive double room was spacious and relaxing with a queen sized bed. The spa/leasure facilitates were very good. Just a shame we had to pay extra for that. ”

”The whole place is a lovely old 1900's building. Lots of memorabilia. We had a small room which was very clean and cosy. Food was excellent. Staff very attentive. Would recommend staying here.”

”I only needed it for one night business. The host was friendly and the price was very reasonable considering it had its own ensuite. It's a little out if the centre but only 15mins walk from St Leonard train station. ”

”Lovely friendly staff, clean and tidy premises, scrumptious breakfast. Stayed two nights, fantastic value and would definitely go back. Just a 10 minute walk to the seafront too, which was a bonus.”

”This property is unique, it is a very old property with all mod cons and some contemporary styling. Loved the facilities and I am a lover of lots of milk in my strong tea, I always have to ask for extra milk … not here, extras for all your tea and coffee making was on the landing.
The room itself and the beds were comfortable, we travelled as a family of three with me and my husband in a double and our little one on a put me up. We had a tv and lots of storage space for clothes etc.
