”This was a fun place to stay while visiting the battle field. The village was very interesting with many small shops.
The room appeared to be recently renovated and staying above a pub was a fun experience. The pub itself was also excellent.
Our only complaint was lack of air conditioning...which resulted in us opening a window...and listening to traffic (the road out front is very busy)
All-in-all, I would strongly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area”
”This is the rare 5-star B&B that actually earns its rating. The house is a beautiful, art filled home where attention is paid to every detail. The host and hostess are lovely and their entire focus is on making their guests' stay comfortable and enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious and abundant. ”The room was compact but very comfortable. It was spotless and very well appointed, with a hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, and even a standing fan. The location is perfect, close to everything you might need. The pub downstairs serves great food too. Even though it's above a pub, there was no noise at all, and I slept very well. Definitely a room for a solo traveller though! ”

”Our room was Yew and Eye, one of the newly built cabins in the garden of this historic inn with a twist. The design is like nothing we’ve ever seen before with surprises every way you look. The room itself has human eyeballs as a decorative theme which was fascinating and amusing. The standard double bed was extremely comfortable, there was plenty of useful storage and good ventilation. A huge marvellous and stylish shower. Gardens, bars, reception and restaurants are all full of delights and...

”Friendly and unusual hotel. Limited food but other places close by. Lovely woodland gardens - but floodlights at night made the room bright. If you want a different stay with an unusually themed country house feel then this is the place.”
”For us, just a one night stay. A clean comfortable room, although a little basic, all in a lovely old building. Easy parking, helpful staff, great restaurant with excellent food for both breakfast & dinner. A very pleasant stay!! ”
”Nice one! Great room with a king size bed, spotless clean, spacious and cosy. The only minus was the extremely strong smell of washing detergent in the bed linen - this hotel is not suitable for allergic people!! Our clothes smelled like the washing detergent for days later... Otherwise nothing to complain about, staff was great, friendly and helpful, breakfast was good and the overall atmosphere in the hotel was good. We could stay again in this hotel.”
”We only stayed the one night, and would definitely book here again. The staff were extemely helpful and friendly and the hotel was clean and tidy. Our room could probably do with an update, but it was clean, spacious, and had a great view. Breakfast was very nice with a great choice of hot drinks and huices as well as both a cold selection buffet, and a cooked breakfast option, all included in our booking. Overall we were vey happy with our stay.”
