”We had fallen in love with Artist Residence in Brighton so we wanted to stay in this fab hotel in Penzance, too. We stayed in the newest add to the hotel rooms, the cottage. Wow! If you want a unique country style cottage just for you and your family or friends, then this is your choice. We were blown away by the great interior of this unique cottage in the backyard of the hotel. ”Spacious and clean room, the staff was lovely. The breakfast is very good and the inn is in a good place to visit the area (bus station and train station in front of the inn). Parking is easy too.”

”We were given a different room to the one we booked. The room was smelling strongly of air freshener to cover the smell from the drains. There was no hot water in the bathroom. The evening meal was awful and took over 2hrs for 2 courses, the waitress ended up in tears after all the complaints. The receptionist tried her best to sort things out but was fighting a loosing battle. All in all not a good stay, luckily we only stayed one night - never again!!!”

”Good location and great if you are travelling to area with out a car. Flat was clean and comfortable but with a little attention to detail could easily be elevated to a really good flat. Entrance needs a good clean and paint and better street signage on the door. Shower very temperamental, scalding hot or freezing cold. Outside area could be easily do with a bit of attention. Seems as if the owner has lost heart and passion in this lovely little flat. ”

”Excellent stay, felt very welcoming upon arrival. Was even offered a room with a larger bed due to my height, but the bed and the room we booked was amazing. Looking forward to our next stay.”

”Very clean and well equipped. Nice area, close to other cities and beaches in Cornwall. The swimming pool was advertised as 24-hour full access but in reality was open only from 10am to 6pm and needed to book every day for each session. The private spa tub was advertised but missing. ”

”Bearing in mind the time of year (Sept) weather was poor so heating inside the piggery was inadequate to heat the internal fabric of the whole unit. The air in the place was heated but went cold when heating off. log burner at one end only same result. Lots of pot holes in the approach driveway through the site.”

”The cottage is fine and it is in a nice location BUT the details of the cottage listed on the Expedia website and Sykes Cottages are different and misleading. Expedia shows the cottage to be within the Penzance city centre & 8 minute walk from the ferry terminal. The cottage is 8 miles (13 kms.) from the Penzance city centre.
