”Had two nights in a family room whilst visiting York, which can be easily accessed by car in minutes. The ground-floor room was clean, spacious and very well appointed, with a large TV and a small but perfectly formed bathroom boasting an array of hand-wash, shower gel, shampoo and separate conditioner! Breakfast was excellent, though options for evening dining were limited. That said, we enjoyed a couple of lovely meals at the nearby Cross Keys pub, where it was possible to reserve a table....

”I had a nice stay at this lovely B&B. Donna, the owner, was warm and welcoming, and the whole place was immaculately clean and well cared for. Breakfast was excellent – a freshly cooked full English, proper coffee in a French press, and delicious yoghurt with fresh fruit. My single room was cosy, with a private bathroom just outside (reflected in the price), and there are plenty of en-suite options too. Wi-Fi was fast, the shower was piping hot with great pressure, and extra tea and coffee in...

”Cashed in some one key points for night away . Took the scenic route from Gateshead and visited Richmond , Aysgarth Falls , Grassington and Thirsk on the way . Had a couple of beers in the beer garden , freshened up then a gorgeous meal in the orangery. So glad we had booked as they were turning people away ! The staff were excellent- friendly , courteous and attentive. Lovely relaxing night away , helped by the English heatwave .”

”Excellent location. We managed to get a free parking space just down the road. Just a short walk into the city. We had a big room at the front overlooking the street and garden with a huge bay window. Very clean. Breakfast was wonderful. They cater for everyone including vegans, which was a bonus and the table service was very quick. Food was hot and delicious. Staff were all very polite. The only negative was the extremely firm mattress, which I struggled with., but it wouldn't stop us staying...
