”We stayed two nights in Red Baron cabin. The Cabin was otherwise ok, but worn out a little bit. The place was nice with mountains all around. Breakfast was served from 8 to 8.30. The Innkeeper prepared the breakfast herself. It was homemade and different from regular hotels. The bad thing about it was that you couldn´t decide yourself what to have for breakfast. As a whole the place was quite ok but next time I visit Durango I propably go somewhere else”

The positives: It's conveniently located on the northern part of the main drag it's easy to reach. It's located only a couple of blocks from a City Market grocery store - completely walkable. ”Nice old vintage feeling hotel. With working neon sign ! The lobby has beer decorations and the owner was very nice. Room was clean and everything worked in there. Yeah there was some small stuff with drywall a Karen could complain about but it didn’t bother us. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.”

”Stayed in Durango for the night on the way from California to Colorado Springs. Older motel but in clean condition. The room had a small frig in it, desk, tv and a decent bed. It was great for a one night stay for the price. Ask for rooms towards the back as the front street is really busy. The front attendant was very helpful and nice. If you are looking for a high end room, this is not the place for you.”

”The General Palmer is over 125 years old. That said it is kept fresh and up to date with almost all the amenities found in a modern hotel. What it lacks in the very latest technologies it more than makes up for with its charm and beauty. The rooms were spotless, the towels in the bath were as fine as I’ve ever seen and lastly the staff were fully dedicated to making your stay comfortable in every way.
