”Clean Room”

”Centrally situated near to all amenities. My single room was basic but comfortable enough, spotlessly cleaned every day and quiet. Breakfast (included) was plentiful and well cooked and presented. I recommend that you check the hot water on entry as when I checked in I wsinceas very tired after my journey and piled into bed. In the morning I found I had no hot water in sink or shower and went to reception to complain. No problem says the girl, I'll be up in 5 minutes to switch it on. Maybe the...

”We felt right at home from the moment we met Freda outside her lovely B&B. Our room was clean and cool, bathroom was very nice as well. Big TV and coffee & Tea on our table. The house itself is very charming and historic. The next day we were greeted by a hearty and delicious homemade breakfast by Freda, we even got to meet Gypsy! Her sweet doggie. We loved our short time in Dumfries, I hope we make our way back there again. We will definitely be staying at the Huntigdon once more”

”Friendly staff but a bit slapdash at breakfast, rooms comfortable but south facing rooms need a portable aircon unit when warmer outside as the room was stiflingly hot despite window open and fan on. Excellent food which we could not fault for two nights dinner.”

”Aberdour is a lovely little old gem in an idyllic neighborhood, close to the train station. It’s run by the inimitable Amanda, who is the best host I’ve ever met. The place is older, and a bit frayed- but in the way the Velveteen Rabbit is frayed. It’s a lovely old place, simple, clean and cared for, and I was immediately made to feel that I was also cared for. The beds are comfortable. ”The staff were some of the best we have ever met and met our needs perfectly. They ensured we had a room that was suitable and went the extra mile to achieve this so a big thank you. The property is in the process of being updated but this didn't affect our stay except perhaps to see how well it appears to be going and I'm sure when this is finished they will have a hotel to be proud of. They have only owned this hotel for about 6 months and it is obvious they are making huge efforts to update...
